“Clean and good location”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 July 2013

We got this at a bargain rate and as such it was superb value - if we'd paid more perhaps I would have rated it 4/5. Rooms small - no ac and bathrooms very small - showers only no bath. The location was fantastic - walking distance of plenty of shops/pubs and eateries not to mention tube station approx. 2 mins walk. Yates and Weatherspoons within 5mins for cheap eats tho we found the local Turkish/Indian restaurants worth paying a little extra for. Staff friendly and helpful, rooms clean and new. A member of our party had a disabled room which was huge and very practical for a wheel chair user. The area has a very multi cultural vibe which we enjoyed.

Room Tip: we were on level one and found everything fine - not noisy.

Having spent an age looking at reasonably priced accommodation outside London, in order to commute in by tube, I chose the Hounslow Travelodge.

It is one of the newest lodges, and as such provided a very clean and modern internal environment. The rooms were impeccable. Small but spacious enough. No baths, but the shower was good, albeit on the smaller side. We booked 5 rooms, although mine wasn't serviced and I was transferred to another, and the staff were very apologetic and professional at all times.

The tube was directly across the road, and is about a half hour journey into central London.

Their website states there is parking parallel to the hotel. We found only a few pay and display points and the parking time is restricted. As we were leaving the car for 48 hours we had to park elsewhere. The Bath Road site stated No Overnight Parking, so the receptionist suggested we parked on the Asda car park, about a 5 minute walk away. This was priced at £12 for the full day. If you are considering leaving your car ALL day, this is the ONLY option.

The only let down was the breakfast. At £7.65, roughly the same as a Premier Inn, you'd expect a similar standard. The choice was very limited and the cooked buffet breakfast rather poor in quality, with very sweet beans, thin cardboard bacon and tasteless sausage. With no fried egg, only scrambled, it was very unappetising, and was left on the plate. Needless to say we didn't have breakfast on the second day.

Also, the televisions didn't seem to have been programmed with channel names, just numbers, so it was impossible to know what channel you were watching, let alone the programme name. The guide was also blank, but maybe this was just my TV.

Overall, a cheap place to stay (If booked in advance), and a clean modern room which is well insulated from the outside noise, with just a murmur of aircraft engine noise and revellers.

If the breakfast was improved it would have been a 5 star review.

Room Tip: The 6th floor should be the quietest, I was on the 1st and wasn't too disturbed from the outside...

It's new and quite comfortable, with excellent soundproofing and a jelly-mould bathroom a la Formule One's (a bit retro actually). Interesting that Accor is moving away from these plastic moulded bathrooms, but the one in this Travelodge works well even if it does look a little garish. I doubt that it will be very durable though.

Location is excellent, right next to the Hounslow Central Underground station, and there are many shops within walking distance.

Room Tip: Get one that faces the side or back of the hotel (away from the main road frontage).

I stayed with my boyfriend for one night in a double room and we weren't expecting much as it was a last minute booking. We travelled to Wembley for a concert and we left it too late for anywhere closer. It's pretty much just across the road from Hounslow Central which was very handy and a five minute walk away from town to grab some food. It was extremely clean, modern and comfortable for the one night we were there. We were expecting lots of noise from the street and airport but were surprised by how quiet it is. The staff were all very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend to anyone needing somewhere for the night.

Handy for the tube station, clean and tidy and compared to some London hotels very good!!!!!! You get what you pay for but actually this hotel was good for the price!! The breakfast was good for a family kids eat free with paying adult.

Having stayed at many Travelodges in the past I knew what I was in for and they didnt disappoint.
The room was clean and had all the amenities you needed.

The location was good, less than a mile from the local tube station although it was quite a way into Central London but the lower prices than other Travelodges reflects that. Unfortunately its 3 stops from Heathrow Airport so the tube is packed, and I mean people shoved up against the doors packed at all times of the day!

We paid for breakfast which I thought was quite expensive at £7 but it was all you can eat and had muffins etc which could be taken away. Stay away from the bacon though. Ive never had bacon which almost makes you chip a tooth before, so who knows what they do to it.

The staff at reception were extremely friendly, more so than I expected so this was another plus.

Bottom line, you dont expect 5 star luxury from this chain but it did the job they say they do.

Travelled to Twickenham and missed flight home so needed overnight accomodation in a hurry for 3 adults. This TL was the pits. Disgusting decor, beds, curtains and the place was guarded by a security guard who was dealing with what appeared to be very serious trouble. The rooms are on the first floor which you take a lift up to and the reception is not immediately obvious although the receptionist was a really nice chap and very helpful. The place should be dropped and rebuilt. Will never return. Cannot recommend at all. Frightening experience.

Room Tip: I cannot think that there is such a thing as a good room on this hotel.
