“Best airport hotel!”

We spent two nights at the beautiful Sofitel and were so pleased with the hotel that we didn't mind the trek to the city a few times. Our "standard" room was very comfortable with a nice bathroom and the possibility of making coffee or tea. The staff is very courteous; they quickly connected us with a physician when we had a medical question we needed answered. There is a tea room with delicious sandwiches and two restaurants: one is French and the other serves spicy Asian food.
We used a driver for transportation but we did try the tube once. Right outside Harrod's door, we took the Knightsbridge tube which took us directly to Heathrow, terminal 4. To go the the Sofitel, terminal 5, you get off a little before the end of the line and take the train the rest of the way. The tube from Heathrow to London takes an hour, for four to seven pounds. The train takes fifteen minutes, for about twenty pounds. It's easy and efficient...England is so civilized!
A useful tip: If you are taking an international flight, you will have to go to terminal 4. That involves a fifteen minute walk and there is a shuttle, but if you have a lot of luggage like us, you might prefer to have the hotel arrange a taxi ride, for seventeen pounds.

I was pleased to read you enjoyed your two nights at our hotel and found our rooms very comfortable and our staff courteous.

We now have a direct service on the Hotel Hoppa Bus which takes our guests to Terminal 4 in under 10 minutes and costs £8.00 return. You are able to purchase tickets from our reception desk and in the next couple of months we hope to install a self-service ticket machine in the lobby. I hope this information is useful.

It was a very short visit...barely the whole night but we chose it for the convenience of being able to walk under cover from the hotel straight to check-in in a matter of minutes which is really great. The rooms are very good and clean but for us the beds are too soft...it's all a matter of personal taste.... the internet is free but only one machine seemed to be able to access it and these days we all have lots of technology so with two in the room we have two phones and potentially two computers and/or ipads etc..... need to be able to use anyone of them as necessary these days! Didn't have breakfast as it's too expensive!

Exiting Terminal 4 access to the hotel was poorly signed and we were misdirected several times. Reaching Reception we were greeted well by someone who was unable to check us in. The receptionist was inflexible and provided room keys in brown folders with the room number written illegibly on the folder. Finding the room through a maze of elevators, absent a map or directions would have been a nightmare absent other friendly staff.

The room was large and comfortable and the pillows a joy. There was a fridge with two bottles of water but curiously no mini bar. Tired after a long journey we did not use the restaurant facilities. We had to leave early as, despite indications to the contrary in the web page, the only help the hotel could provide to Terminal 3 was a taxi for £17.50.

There are lots of excellent business hotels at Heathrow. The Sofitel appears to believe that its T5 location makes it 'special' and hence justifiably expensive. I know T1-T4 intimately but had only flown into T5 once before. En route overnight from Madrid to Miami, Florida the Sofitel seemed convenient despite a hefty price. On reflection it would have been sensible to stay closer to T3 on arrival at 6pm.

I was pleased to read that you found our rooms large and comfortable and that you encountered friendly staff to direct you to your room.

We always want to offer all our guests a warm, personalised and informative service from our reception staff and I apologise that this was not correct in your case.

Our mini bars are fully stocked from Junior Suite level and above however we do ensure we have complementary water in all our rooms, as you mentioned in your feedback, this is not to say that we cannot stock the mini bar for you on request, please just call reception and we will endeavour to do this as quickly as possible. Another suggestion would be for you to contact our Guest Relations Manager, Dallas on H6214-AM@sofitel.com prior to your next planned arrival and he will ensure that your mini bar is stocked in your room with your requested items. I hope this helps by way of explaining and apologise for any inconvenience this caused you during your stay with us.

We are currently in discussion with BAA to update and add more signs in order to make it easier for guests to find their way from the Heathrow Terminals to our hotel. Travel from Terminal 1-3 is easiest via Heathrow Express which is a free service, travel from Terminal 4 is easiest on the Hotel Hoppa Bus which is a direct service from Terminal 4 to our hotel and visa versa, this costs £8.00 return and tickets can be bought from the Terminal or at our reception desk. I hope this information is useful.

I would like to assure you that we do no rely on the fact that our location is very convenient for our guests and still always want to deliver a first class service to all our guests and I apologise that this was not true in your case, I hope that you will provide us with the chance to restore you faith in Sofitel London Heathrow and stay with us again very soon.

I have stayed at a number of different airport hotels from different chains around the world in general, and at Heathrow in particular, and the Sofitel Heathrow is definitely the best. The staff is very friendly, courteous and helpful, the hotel itself is very attractively designed, built and decorated, the rooms are well appointed and generous in size for an airport hotel, all services are available and first-rate. The access to terminal 5 at Heathrow through an overhead passageway is unbeatable.

In short, I plan to stay here every time I pass through Heathrow.

We are very proud to be able to over a direct access via our covered walkway from Terminal 5 into our hotel, the walk in total should take a maximum of 7 minutes from the arrivals level with trolleys available to ease the journey and I am so pleased that you have stated that this is unbeatable. Very good service, helpful staff, exceptionally convenient to Heathrow and 15 minutes to Paddington downtown London by express train. All very good except the high speed internet connection was $23 per day - that is too much! Otherwise great stay.

I was so pleased to read that you enjoyed our convenient location both with Terminal 5, how easily you can reach London from our hotel and our staff service.

We do offer a complimentary internet connection however this is designed for emails and light browsing, if you require to download a large file or document we do recommend purchasing the High-Speed option. This option as you mentioned costs £15 unless it is included in your room (Superior and Luxury rooms include the High-Speed internet) or you are enjoying the executive lounge.

Stayed at the Sofitel for a night before flying to New York. Our decision to book the Sofitel was the perfect start to our holiday. Booked 2 interconnecting rooms, no noise and exceptionally comfortable beds. Left our car at the hotel's car park, all wonderfully convenient for Terminal 5.

On our return today, tired after the overnight flight we were met with a car that wouldn't start......and this is when the calibre of a hotel's staff makes such a difference. A member of staff produced a battery charger and when that didn't work fetched his car to recharge our battery. He and his colleague couldn't have been more helpful......end result we drove off within 30 minutes.....committed Sofitel fans.....just wished we had written down their names. Management should be proud of staff who go that extra mile to help their guests.

I spent the full week at The Sofitel Heathrow Terminal 5 last week and it was outstanding. I had 5 colleagues with me on a business trip to The BMW PGA Championship and it was ideally located for us to get to Virginia Water and when we needed to get into London, the Heathrow Express is just downstairs. This is not my first visit to this hotel and for good reason. The rooms are terrific and modern and the double glazed windows ensure noiseless tranquility. The bed is the best feature in the room as it is extremely comfortable and the crisp, fresh linen just begs you to sleep deeply. This hotel is ideally suited for both transit passengers and longer stays if you need to be south west of London. One tip though, don't be put off by the sometimes abrasive Eastern European front desk staff. The manager is always on hand and he could not go out of his way enough to attend to our needs.

I can tell that Sofitel Luxury Hotels has once again achieved its goal in providing you with a good nights sleep. MyBed is indeed a unique system implemented by the Sofitel brand and it feels like heaven to sleep in our beds!

The Heathrow Express does deliver you into London Paddington in 20 minutes but you also have direct access to the Piccadilly Line via the London Underground which is much more cost effective and takes 40 minutes and straight into the heart of London.

We always want to offer all our guests a warm, personalised and informative service from our reception staff and indeed throughout the hotel. So I was disappointed to hear that you did not experience this during your stay with us. However relieved to read that our Front Office Manager, Mark was on hand to attend to your needs. Please be assured we are about to imminently embark on a programme of proactive hospitality training throughout the whole hotel to ensure we are consistent with Sofitel brand standards with particular focus on first impressions of the hotel and I will ensure front desk receive some extra training in this area.
