Down a side street between the London and Twickenham Roads, this is an ordinary looking slightly busy sham logic looking place as you pass by but inside is given over to all that you might hope for. We like the mixed punter, mixed distraction and function feel. We have been here three times for music, jazz is our preference. They have about a dozen live gigs a month, sat sun and some Mondays. Very pleasant enjoyable place. They seem to keep their informative website well up to date.

“Real ale, great jazz, friendly down-to-earth local pub”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2013

Ok, so its tucked away down a side street by Isleworth Rail Station to the west of Syon Park, and looks a bit worse for wear, and the carpet is a Victorian relic ........... but it has great value ales, has won the CAMRA local award for its beer, with terrific friendly service, and even better has fabulous free jazz on Monday nights from 8.30pm (see their latest band listing in www.jazzinlondon.net).

The 'stage' is a corner where London jazz stalwarts such as Jim Mullen play guitar, with american Dave Lewis on sax, and Mike Gorman on keyboards, not to mention the guvnor Trevor Tomkins on drums - such a great evening was had on Monday 1st April - the band were about to do the final number of the night when some old guy got up to put his coat on and Jim shouts out in his lovely Glaswegian burr "Oi you, sit down - I'm not finished yet!" ....... and headbutts the microphone ....... what's not to like?!

Ps. They hold a raffle with CD prizes at the end of the night so the musicians get their bus fare home
