Having stayed here a number of times over the years as I have an office nearby it has been much improved with new Hypnos beds and bedding which was underway while I was there.
The only surprise was that as the rooms have been upgraded there is still a bath/shower combination which is nearly always replaced now during refurbishment with a walk in shower. Don't get me wrong, I like a good soak in the bath, especially after a grey dismal wet day; but it is such a rare occurrence I would have thought the safety risks associated with people getting in and out of wet baths trying to have a shower would have eliminated these.
My one criticism, and it happens frequnwty when I stay away more than one night for work is that house keeping never heck if you have used the breakfast card. Or maybe even easier, if you deliver a breakfast to the room, being a replacement card for the second day!! Having ordered a breakfast on day one which arrived hot and on time, albeit missing the bowl of fruit I had requested; I didn't get back until late the following night and wanted simply to go to bed. No card on the door and I didn't want to wait up for it to be sorted. The consequence being I didn't get any breakfast the next morning as j had to leave early and I didn't have time to eat/ get ready and go to the restaurant.
I was lucky, but several of my colleagues complained of noise from the air con units in their rooms despite being turned off at around 4.00am. One even recorded it and the noise was like an aircraft. I have no idea how they slept.
However, overall it was worth the money, staff were friendly and food was good, if not outstanding.
There is plenty of parking, an onsite pool and gym. Not to mention being quite a good location not far off the M25
