“Great value for money”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2014 via mobile

Visited again after a couple of years and the whole pub has been refurbished to a very high standard - including the toilets. Food is exceptional value for a good wholesome carvery. Choice of 3 meats or a pie or mixture of all along with a good selection of vegetables. Yes, Some were fresher than others but all were delicious- please remember the price you are paying!! Desserts were very generous and drinks were reasonably priced.
This is a very reasonably priced and very clean venue with attentive staff. Genuinely cannot fault the goat in any way.

“Birthday lunch!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2014 via mobile

Another good meal had at The Goat. I was with a group of 10 in one of their private areas known as The Grazing Room. It was perfect for us!
It was very busy but this did not stop the staff being polite & friendly but not intrusive.
We were not pressured at all & spent a lovely 3 plus hours with my family.

“DISSAPOINTING”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 May 2014

came back to see the improvements made regarding the layout, and it is better arranged than previous. unfortunately the food was not so good, the beef was overdone, vegetables were luke warm, and some were raw. service was ok, but then it is generally self service anyway. don't think we will come back again.

“Great Garden”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2014

A friend and I had lunch at The Goat this week and sat out in the garden. The place has recently been refurbished to a very high standard and they have improved it greatly. The garden was a real sun trap. The carvery meal was great value for money (£5.95) and the food was excellent. The staff were helpful and friendly. There is plenty of parking. We would definitely go here again.

“Veggies nightmare?”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 April 2014

Now I know for a veggie going to a British Cavery isn't the best idea... But there we're simple things that could be changed to make everyone's vist better. Since they've done everything up you would expect the standard of service would too. We waited and waited throughout each course. Plates were not cleared away. Just a mess! And the fact I had to call over the waitress several different times to get new drinks and stuff. I also had to ask four different staff including the manager if any of the deserts we're veggie as they hadn't bothered to place a (v) next to it! This I found very annoying. The food and drink is also quite expensive.
I highly doubt I will go back.
