“Friendly hotel close to the Stadium”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 May 2014 via mobile

I arrived into Wembley Stadium station and it took less than 5 minutes to walk to the hotel. On arrival at the hotel I was given a thorough run down of the services and facilities available.

Being a IHG Platinum Member I was given a IHG Club room which was quite spacious and tastefully decorated. There was a good view of surrounding area and a side on view of the stadium.

The room was well equipped with a large flat screen TV with around 15 channels and a handful of radio stations. The bed was extremely comfortable; in the wardrobe were bathrobes and slippers. The bathroom although small was fine with a small selection of toiletries and powerful shower.

This is a very good hotel and I would make this a hotel of choice when in the area again.

I stay in a lot of hotels with my job, all over the world, so know a clean, well kept hotel with comfortable beds!
Arrived late in the evening with 2 children, checkin was very easy, acknowledged as a platinum card holder.
Room was easily found and very well presented.
Bathroom a little small, but clean.
Beds were very comfortable with enough pillows :)

Checkout was quick & easy the next morning, all the staff we met were very friendly and took the time to engage with my daughters who were with me.

Only downside was distance from Central London (took almost 2 hours to get to the hotel from Central London because of traffic) and the £25 overnight parking charge (it wasn't a match or concert night and we were only there as a stop over before travelling onward).

I will probably consider this hotel again because of the quality of sleep & the friendliness of the staff but the hotel needs to rethink it's overnight parking charges!

Had a very good stay here (except for a broken fire alarm which went off and made us leave an hour earlier): very clean room, modern fittings (at least in the refurbished rooms), reasonably spacious, bathroom with a bathtub and efficient service. Especially if you're in the IHG Rewards program, 10.000 points is a steal for a night here, a step up from the similarly-priced Holiday Inn Express options.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a refurbished room.

Dear Johnflorin Thank you for your comments in regards to your recent stay and for your 4 star review rating. I am sorry that you had to leave an hour earlier because of the fire alarm. In order to reset the panel we have to get authorisation from the fire brigade to instruct us to reset the panel, this is for the safety of our guests. I am sorry for any inconvenience caused. Due to events of the previous weekend both me and newly married wife decided that as the previous weekend was so bad with a different hotel chain as a wedding present we decided to redo our honeymoon and stay at a hotel brand that we both know has very high standards and would make our honeymoon a great honeymoon.

Having stayed at this hotel before and a very regular guest in IHG Hotels (in fact already stayed over 50nights this year). i was very disappointed with the level of customer service, in fact it was the worst i have experienced in many years. On check in i was welcomed to the hotel by a very friendly member of reception staff who was in training (very kind and will go far in the hotel trade) who the handed me over to another member of staff to finish off checking me in.

Was give the 10th floor as a upgrade (very kind and very nice room) only to find that when you would like to use the Minibar to put some milk in you have to pay a £150 per night deposit for £112.35 worth of goods. Had to go to Tesco to buy a pint of milk as the hotel refused to give some without extra charge (can't drink UHT milk) so that i could have a cup of tea in the room. In the end the Duty Manager said that he would try and get a member of staff to empty the Minibar so that i could put my milk and chocolate in it.

Hotel Duty Manager was very unfriendly and started quoting me rules and standards of IHG Hotels. As IHG Rewards Platinum Member i wanted to have a single drink with my Newly married wife in the hotel bar but Duty Manager wanted a Pre- authorization of a credit card again to a value of £150 per night, when explained that i had a card that didn't have the Pre- authorization function i was told that they would charge the card but would have to then wait for a refund to go back on my debt card. In the end i had to get reception to allow a charge on my room and then pay it straight off using my debit card.

I am so upset to say that on this stay at the Holiday Inn Wembley they show total disregard that i am very loyal Guest to the Hotel Chain, very rude, and very petty at many times. The standards of some members of staff totally ruined the start of our honeymoon and for me was so upsetting that this hotel can let the Holiday Inn & IHG Brand down so badly. Complaint will follow.

Room Tip: Read all comments/reviews before booking so you will not be disappointed

Dear Reviewer
Thank you for taking the time and trouble to write to us of your recent experience at our hotel. Having read through, I can imagine your disappointment and would like to extend my sincere apologies. I have discussed the points raised with the team and would like to comment as follows: We upgraded you to our executive floor and minibars are provided only on this floor. Our guests’ are required to provide a deposit or credit card authorisation for the value of £150 to access the minibar . We do not allow our minibar to be used for personal use. However on this occasion the Duty Manager Sodat took the decision to empty the minibar for you as a gesture of good will. Our customers are of extreme importance to us and once again extend our apologies for any inconvenience caused and thank you for bringing this to my attention. If you need any further information please do not hesitate to contact me. Kind regards

Excellent hotel a stones throw away from wembley stadium. Got a really good shopping centre neighbouring hotel. Room was not spacious but was just right .Bathroom was also not spacious but had excellent facilaties. Stayed for a couple of nights in a twin room. Good leisure facilaties too which are free to use.

Close to the stadium but farther from the city. We had no wifi without paying which was a nuisance as we were traveling with several people. You had to have a gold or platinum membership to get it for free. Outside the city center which made it a walk to the metro to get anywhere. The front desk was not very friendly. Food was ok but not amazing. Would not stay here again. Clean rooms.

We returned to hotel after evening out and just as we were getting ready for bed all power went. I rang reception and they said they would come up. After waiting 2 hours gave up and tried to sleep. Room was boiling as windows locked and no air con so had horrendous night. Power came back on in middle of night and all lights etc came on and woke us. Terrible nights sleep. Breakfast was luke warm and even tea not hot enough to melt sugar. Staff not interested and just apologised but said as we had booked through Skoosh they could do nothing. Will use Premier Inn in future with good night guarantee!!!!!
