We wanted somewhere special to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. This meant we had a lot of guests (86 people) to accommodate. Being Chinese meant we needed somewhere where authentic, good quality Chinese food was freshly prepared. We were not disappointed. The food served was absolutely delicious and in good portions so no one went home hungry. Our Chinese friends and family all commented on how perfectly cooked the pork and yam was (a traditional Hakka dish). Many commented that the food was better than found in China Town. Non Chinese friends were thrilled to be treated to these authentic dishes. The sweet and sour fish also went down very well, along with the vegetable straws which were an excellent alternative to the usual prawn cracker/vegetable spring roll starter. Any left overs were quickly boxed in doggy bags and snapped up by guests so that good food wasn't wasted and they could relive the day in their dinner the next day. The table we put all the deviant vegetarians on hovered up their dishes and not a speck remained. Their favourite dishes were the Sweet and Sour Vegetable and Aubergine in Spicy Korean Barbecue Sauce. They also enjoyed the vegetarian lettuce wrap - their alternative to our duck with pancakes. The presentation of the food was beautiful and just looking at it had you salivating before the first mouthful.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, particularly when guests wanted to decide their own seating plan! Owners Henry and Valerie, worked closely with us to help decide dishes for the day and accommodate our requests. Most importantly (beside the good food) we never felt rushed and could entertain our guests in a relaxed environment.
The restaurant has a modern decor and was lovely, clean and spacious so would most probably be able to accommodate an even larger party.
The restaurant is a hidden gem, tucked away on an industrial park but once you are inside you completely forget this. It has ample parking which it shares with the Chinese supermarket below so that was very convenient. It is a short walk from Alperton tube station (5 - 10 minutes). Guests from this neck of the woods or who have friends in the area said they couldn't wait to come back and share this great dining experience with them.
Thank you to all at Pan Asian restaurant for making my father's birthday so memorable for him and our guests.
