We recently spent a week in Boscastle with friends and ate in most of the restaurants, at every meal we graded them 1 to 10. This was the only restaurant that all 4 of us gave 10 out of 10. We told the staff and they asked if it was because of the food, it was everything, the service, the food and the smaller touches, jugs of iced water with lemon on our table before being seated, fresh flowers, the portions were huge, the starters could have been easily mistaken for a main meal. I was so glad I had decided not to have a starter and go for the dessert, Strawberry meringue sundae and I wasn't dissapointed. We had been to a very famous restaurant in Padstow to clebrate my birthday and I didn't rate that as high as the Bottreaux Restaurant.
