Owner description: The Museum of Witchcraft and Magic houses one of the world's largest collections of items relating to witchcraft, the occult and magic. With over 3000 objects, a wise woman's cottage, a herb garden and a shrine it is a memorable place. It has been in the picturesque Cornish coastal village of Boscastle since 1961 and is one of Cornwall's most popular museums rated highly on TripAdvisor. The Museum intrigues visitors with its collections of charms, curses, herbs and healing and sea witchcraft. Some of our most popular items are magical tools such as glass knitting needles, objects which were used for scrying such as black mirrors, crystals and crystal balls and our collection of protection talismans made by soldiers in the trenches of World War One. The Museum also has an extensive library with other 7000 books and an archive of documents which can be viewed online or visited by appointment.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this museum when we stumbled across it, but with family members and my friend equally interested in various parts of folklore and witchcraft, it was interesting to me too.

They have loads of artefacts and cool little question areas for children (that I got amused by) and some really creepy collectible items. They also have a cute shop with authentic buyable items like ouija boards and wands and that sort of thing.

There doesn't seem to be any sort of chronological order to the museum, but the effects and lighting make up for the haphazard display/layout. I enjoyed walking around and taking things in at my own pace, and my friend really liked it. Unless they openly add more things, I don't think there's any reason to return again.

Not just a wet weather attraction. Will accept it's not for everybody. You can look at how intolerant we have been in the name of religion or just plain mistrust of the unfamiliar.

The breadth and depth of the displays, lots of things i didn't know. A bit scary in places but absolutely fascinating way to spend part of a day.
