Attraction details
Owner description: This 3.6 mile moderate walk follows part of the South West Coast Path from Boscastle along the cliffs bordering the ancient fields of Forrabury, before heading inland through Minster Wood, and then along the Valency Valley. In 2004 these steep-sided valleys funnelled 440 million gallons of water through Boscastle village in 5 hours, causing devastating flooding.

Wonderful views. Not a lot of people around as in other coastal towns. We found the walk not too arduous and as the weather was perfect it was great to spend time walking at our own pace.

“Not for the faint hearted”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

We walked from Boscastle through to Tintagel. It was a great walk of around 5-6 miles. We managed very well but there are a far number of very steep stretches which could hinder some who are not so nimble. The views of the coast are fantastic and truely worth the sweat and aching limbs

“Beautiful views on undulating coastal path.”
Reviewed 7 August 2014

We walked the coastal path a few times during our short stay in Boscastle. The views are just beautiful so make sure you take a camera. It is a very undulating path and slippery and narrow in places so worth wearing decent footwear. It wasn't really busy when we walked it but I'm sure it is well used.

Every time we walked the path we saw a kestrel hovering close by. I did have a Sunday morning run along the path too, I rather underestimated how steep the path was heading out of Boscastle harbour and the challenging terrain but a really nice path to run. I did have to stop and take a little photo!

“Small but beautiful”
Reviewed 3 August 2014

Staying here for a week and for a small town it has more than most. Restaurants a plenty, shops of all variety and a costal walk. This also has to be one of the cleanest places I've been to xx

“breathtaking views”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

the coastal path and walk to and from Boscastle is stunning

Boscastle itself is a beautiful quaint harbour village which was partly destroyed by floods 10 years ago in August.....the visitor centre shows footage of the floods which jogged the memory banks and shows what an amazing job the locals/authorities have done to get the place back into a ship shape condition.

Boscastle has a lovely feel which is not commercialised and keeps a touch of the proper Cornish Fishing Village
