We'd never have known it was there but for the roadside signage - we backtracked and followed the lane up to a log cabin with ample parking and awesome views. There were loads of Harley Davidsons in the car park, so that seemed a good sign. Inside it was packed - many people buying the cafe's home-made pasties to take away, huge and deliciously tempting to smell.
Friendly young staff ushered us to a table and we scanned the wide menu, opting for bacon-and-egg sarnies apiece with coffee. These arrived promptly and were huge, hot, in fresh crusty bread and superb. While eating, we kept an eye o other diners' meals - the variety and quality looked uniformly good, including roasts, all-day-breakfasts, all kinds of snacks and good home-made cakes.
The interior could do with a face-lift, but the food's so good and unpretentious who cares?
Worth a detour anyday!

Family brunch...for five...

Good weather, good views, good company... good food...one of the 'servers' had clearly had a less than excellent sleep the night before but there we go! I have still not tried the Olympic breakfast but plan to at some point. One welcome aspect is that the plates are really quite hot and, therefore, the food stays hot a little longer.

The Harley Davidson fan club meet there the first Sunday in the month, I thought... but yesterday they made it the second. Always a wide-ranging clientele...

Super food, good service and interesting mix of clientele. Lots of bikers seem to stop off there so gets noisy but the children love the chickens and rabbits and their fresh eggs are wonderful. You even get to watch the alpacas in the lower fields for free

We eat here once or twice a month. We have taken many friends and family there over the years. The food is bountiful and fresh. They even cater for wheat free diners. My children love it there. Prices are very good and the food has never disappointed us.

Staff are always delightful...

The only negative point, is that they are very busy so it's best to book as we have not been able to get a table. (This is because they are very very popular and not a negative on their food or services)
