We made a last minute booking for three double rooms (2 nights) in order for us to attend a close family funeral. The staff were so obliging and could not do enough for us. Their helpful attitudes and smiling faces made our stay at this sad time so much more bearable. We were given the last three rooms including the bridal suite, the family suite room 2 and the quiet room 11. Breakfast, resaurant/bar meals were superb and services could not be faulted. Situated conveniently in the centre of Camborne, it was a true Cornish atmospheric hotel which we would certainly recommend and would love to return to under happier circumstances.

Room Tip: Rooms at the top and rear of hotel are probably the quieter ones over a weekend.

Stayed for 2 nights (mid-week). From the moment we arrived staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Nice spacious rooms with good facilities. Excellent breakfast, even the smaller cooked breakfast is more than enough to set you up for the day! Ate in the restaurant both evenings and would recommend it, excellent range of choices and food was delicious both nights with prompt service in a quiet relaxed atmosphere. The fact that food and drinks are available during the day is also a bonus. I think one of the nights we stayed was quiz night in the pub part but all was peaceful by 11pm so no issue with that. Will definitely stay there again if I'm in the area, also tempted to try out the sister hotel in Wadebridge if I'm down that way.

We stayed 3 nights (mid-week). Centrally located to see sites in Cornwall. The room was quiet, clean and spacious. Staff was cheerful and responsive. Food was excellent. We ate breakfast and dinner there all 3 days, If we return to Cornwall, we would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: Request a quiet room

Positive
Nice friendly 'pub' hotel - very clean,

En suite bathroom, TV, radio/alarm clock, tea/coffee facilities in the room, iron and board available on request. Also has free WIFI available - just ask reception for a connection code.

Great food in the pub including breakfast.

Beer garden with heaters.

To Take into consideration

The pub is popular with the locals at weekends and is on one of the main streets so there was a lot of street noise outside my window - The music in the hotel finished at 12.00 so this wasn't a problem for me but may be for those who like to go to bed early.

Oh and the walls are VERY thin...could hear the man next door snoring !

I carry ear plugs when I travel so once asleep I slept soundly !

Negative
The only negative thing really was that the bed was pretty uncomfortable...sort of rickety and lumpy and bumpy...but I have a back problem so maybe I am just sensitive!

Otherwise...cant fault it!

We stayed here for one night (a Thursday) while travelling to Lands End. We arrived quite late (about 6.30) and were met with a very warm, friendly welcome and the news that dinner was still being served till 9pm - music to our ears! Our standard double room was very big, comfortable and nicely furnished and included a large wardrobe, lots of hangers, plenty of drawer space, a dressing table, comfortable chairs and a spacious en-suite with bath & shower and complementary toiletries. The bed was large and comfortable. Our meals were tasty and plentiful and reasonably priced. Tyacks is a large maze-like building with lots of hallways and stairs but beautifully decorated and furnished. The staff are friendly and helpful and its town centre location is very convenient. A great place to stay however short or long your visit.

Room Tip: If you are staying on a Friday or Saturday night ask for a 'quiet' room.

This is a pub and it does get noisy! The rooms are large and airy and there is plenty of storage. The reception staff were so friendly and bubbly every time we talked to them we left smiling. It isnt perfect but overall they have made the most of what is there, the room are clean and large, but the hairdyer is from the ark and the light curtains do let in too much light in summer. The first day we had breakfast there was a great waitress and the service was fantastic and the food hot and plenty of it however the second day we were shown how not to do it with dirty crockery, running out of juice and cereal and things missing from the breakfast one guest even went in search of her own cup which made us feel like we were constantly complaining.Overall we would recommend this as a good cheap place to stay and it does accept dogs.

Room Tip: Room 15 is at the back of the hotel not on the main road
