This place is not one I would recommend to my worst enemy. The food was just about bearable until the pudding came and it was slop. The white wine was warmer than the red. The young girl serving tried her very best but the kitchen and manager did give a damn about helping her. They charged us for food we didn't have and when challanged took it off the bill and I didn't notice the bottle of wine they then added. NEVER GO THERE, TRUST ME

“So bad it was funny”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 January 2011

My family and I had two good meals at Il Gatto Nero in Camborne last year so decided to visit again for my step-daughter's birthday. Our drinks were late coming and we were served a bottle of very warm white wine. When we complained that the wine was too warm to drink we were given a bucket of cold water to sit it in because the ice machine had broken (we eventually had to order a bottle of red because it was clear to us that it would take all evening to chill the wine in this way). Our starters were okay but one of us was given the wrong main course and had to wait for her order to be prepared and another said their main was inedible because it was so bland. Dessert was a farce. I was given the wrong flavour ice cream with my apple pie and complained. When it came back the new ice cream was a melted puddle on my plate and my apple pie was now stone cold, my stepdaughter had a dessert which looked like it had curdled and my mother was given a 'cheesecake' which looked like two scoops of cream slapped on her plate with some fruit sauce - there was no biscuit base. To cap it all my husband had to go through the bill at the end of the meal because we were billed for drinks and food we didn't have! The service was appalling and much of the food was bad. I was worried that my stepdaughter's birthday was going to be ruined but the evening was so poor that we ended up laughing about it - it was like something out of Fawlty Towers!!

“What a disappointment!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2010

Nice venue but good quality food spoiled by an inept chef - one starter was so salty that it was inedible . When this was mention to the proprietor just got a mumbled sorry & a bit of banter. One main course was full of blood again when quieried it was taken back to the kitchen & almost straight away broght back after I guess being zapped in a microwave - not much better & again made light of by the owner. We declined deserts much to the bemusement of the owner. We went there on a recommendation of a friend & like to support local businesses by I'm afraid wont be returning in this instance - such a shame!

4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2010

had a meal here recently with my girlfriend after a flyer was dropped thru our letterbox , we arrived on a saturday night and the place was packed but as we made a reservation were shown to our table
menu is vey extensive and reasonably priced , we both opted for lasagne and chose the homemade garlic bread to share and both were very nice although portions of lasagne werent filling enough for us
had a lovely pint of peroni to wash it down
would definately go back again
