At first sight you might be fooled into thinking you're just in for a whistle-stop tour......how very wrong you would be! Steve (who is an absolute scream and so passionate about what he and the team have created you could spend all day just chatting to him) welcomed us as the reception and then we were whisked back in time.....So much to see and do - so many interesting photos, stories, memories, pictures, artifacts. Our 'morning' visit turned into one that spanned much more and we were so pleased we had stopped in. There are even ghostly airmen said to get up to tricks so watch out! They had been up to mischief the night before we visited. All this and exceptional value for money too so very well worth supporting a wonderful museum right on the edge of the airfield where so many brave men and women (yes - and amazing they were too) took off into the unknown to protect those left behind....

A small volunteer 'shoestring' museum without lavish buildings & facilities. Nevertheless, it was very welcoming & full of fascinating & interesting exhibits some of which were very personal & local to Cornwall. It showed the part that this airfield played in WW2.
We plan to re-visit this museum as there is a lot to see.

Brilliant Museum for a family day out and especially good for people with dementia and related disorders to go back in time and reminisce about the war days. Stimulating and exciting with regular shows this is a must for enthusiasts and holiday makers. Don't miss it!

This is a smallish museum, insofar as it does not have masses of large exhibits, but it more than makes up for this with a wide range of dioramas, vignettes and collections spread throughout a dozen of so buildings. A lot of care and attention to detail has been put into this museum, and at just £10 for a family of 5 is very good value.
It also includes a display on the history of the Cathedral city cheese factory which is adjacent.
