We booked this villa privately and were not disappointed. First off this isn't really a villa its more of a chalet but that isn't a criticism, the hotel calls them villas so the privately owned ones should as well i suppose. We found it clean, comfortable, well fitted out and with every kitchen implement you could imagine. It is well situated for getting around North Cornwall and i really can't fault it at all. We ate in the Hotel restaraunt one evening and the food and service was excellent. We would not hesitate to come back here if we visit North Cornwall in the future and i can highly recommend it to anyone either a couple or with a one or two children.
As a family we have stayed in the same villa 11 at Lanteglos for the past 2 years. The reviews which give such different opinions here are valid - there IS a variation in the villas quality.
The place itself is quiet, safe for children and really convenient for all of North Cornwall without having to pay huge prices for Padstow, Port Isaac, Rock etc.
There are 2 sorts of Lodge and villa - those run by the hotel and those operated by private individuals. The private ones and a few hotel ones which have recently been updated are the best - no damp, poor facilities or old furniture.
Great place to stay - just ask if your intended has been recently upgraded when you enquire. Then its a great deal.

We stayed at Villa 11 Lanteglos and the poor reviews that have been given do not reflect our stay in this privately owned holiday home.
We were in a newly refurbished 2 bedroom stone and wood hoiliday home with double glazing, new fixtures and fittings. It was not damp or poor in any way - the kids 10/12 and us loved it.
Location is ideal for North Cornwall, place safe quiet and friendly and well cared for.
We paid £500 for our week and have booked for 2x in 2011 This was a bargain last year which was why we went expecting whatever -maybe other holiday places there are not so good but ours was/is super.
