on arrival we were met by very helpful staff and quickly sorted out at reception.
our caravan was perfect,we go on sun holidays so we never expect the best accomadation they have but we had a nearly new 3 bed caravan with double glazing and central heating.inside was very clean and well looked after.
on site they have a clubhouse for evening entertainment and also use this for kids clubs through the day.there is a launderette, chip shop/pizzeria,shop and a small arcade gaming area.it is a small camp of around 120 caravans but it is immaculate all round.with a 5 minute walk to the beach it was just perfect.
thay do not have a pool on site but the beach is very very close so not really a big problem for us.there is a nice childrens play area too.
my expectations was nowhere near what they delivered.
well done prakdean for making crantock beach a great weeks holiday for us.

Just returned from half term week at Crantoch beach. This was our second visit to the park but we chose the same van as before. I suggest you phone up and book and ask for one of the vans on the cliff edge overlooking the Gannel. Very quiet, lovely beach, great walks and the fish and chips at the cafe aren't bad too! Don't miss, the walk to Penpol creek, the walk to Porth Joke beach over Rushy Green, crab fishing off the little bridge at low tide and lunch at the Fern Pitt Cafe at the top of the steps. Till next time.

Stayed here on a Sun bargain break, the caravan was in excellent condition and very roomy and comfortable. The beach here is, as always fantastic. The area was very quiet and peaceful because we were out of the main holiday season. We went to the old albion inn to check the menu and was very disappointed to find this establishment to have deteriorated out of all recognition from years gone by. The pub was very dirty and the window frames were black with grime, looked like it had not been cleaned for years, unfortunately we declined to order from the menu and left. The bowgie inn up the road at West Pentire offers good family meals, had beef stroganoff which was very good.

Went for a long weekend in may. Booked through the sun newspaper and got a great deal. Spotlessly clean, has all the kitchen utensils u would need. Would advise taking own bedding, some cushions were stained. Rooms smelt a bit musty but once Windows opened was fine. Has its own beach which was very nice, I imagine even better in summer, lots of surfers to watch, great for dog walking. Reception were polite, got to check in quickly and early :) taxi into newquay is about £12. If parking in newquay parking by the new cinema is convenient. Morrisons just up the road, much cheaper than the on site shop. There is a pub and takeaway on site but very small, didn't use either. Not much else to do on site really. Beware of the road leading to the site. Narrow is an understatement. Only room for one car. All in all, a basic well kept site but could b a bit nearer to the centre of newquay.

Am a 'mature' female with a little dog.
Having decided it was about time I took solo holidays (after many visits to Newquay area with friends), I chose this caravan park break for flexibility, affordability & dog friendliness.
First impressions were excellent. The staff were very pleasant & received a welcome pack for myself & my dog (yes, his own welcome pack) upon arrival. Able to park car on grass right next to caravan. This was ideal as I took all my own food (on a budget!), some cooking stuff, bedding etc. so I could feel 'at home'. Felt VERY safe on this site. The dog friendly caravan was adequate & as expected. Clean, with utensils, dishes, hair dryer, vacuum & plenty of storage/hanging space.
Ideal for me & JRT was the designated walking area for dogs - a separate field which took about 20 mins to go round door-to-door (perfect for am & pm walks).
Best of all was the direct access down to (West Pentire) Crantock beach & Coastal paths.
I cannot convey the sheer pleasure of arriving at an almost desolate beach at sunrise (0715 hrs) within 10 minutes of leaving the caravan ... to let my JRT run freely, to watch his ears flapping in the sea wind, running for ball along untouched sand & without a worry of unknown dangers. Crantock beach itself is dead flat.
Take the coastal path EAST of Crantock beach (10 mins walk from the park) & walk along the cliffs over & parallel to the Gannel. Tide times & time of year dictate what you can do so check.
Take coastal path WEST of Cb & walk through sand dunes, fields & arrive at Polly Joke beach. JRT & I were the only ones here for over 10 minutes. Magical. We didn't go to Holywell beach further along the coastal path - we will save that for next pre-booked visit in October 2011.
Scoot round to the Pentire (4 ish miles by car but visible up from Cb) & take another 40 minute walk out & in the headland (free car parking from 1st November). Feel the Atlantic winds almost blow you over. Take windproof clothes. The Lewennick Lodge pub very close by serves great freshly percolated coffee. The decor is bright, breezy, dog friendly & laid back charming staff welcome you. The view of the crashing Atlantic sea is astounding. Sit outside if you wish.
Crantock beach holiday park is wonderful.
I didn't want to leave. If my JRT could talk ... he'd say he didn't want to leave either.
I WILL be back.

We have stayed in and around this location a number of times, but this is the first time we have actually stayed at this park and we were pleasently surprised with it.
On first impressions making your way to the park you have to travel along a tiny bendy lane for abou a mile which can be quite daunting if you meet another car and you get the feeling of that you are in the middle of nowhere, a quick to avoid this is to turn right when leaving the park and travel down the hill into the village, this is still single track for about 500yrds but it is straight and no very busy, it makes travelling to and from the camp alot easier.
check in was very easy, and the information pack was very helpful and they even included a little present for our dog, the park is very pleasing on the eye and is well maintained, a wouldn't say there is alot to do for kids so perhaps this is a more relaxed park. it is only about 10 mins walk from Crantock Beach which is fantastic for running the dog in the morning and evening to tire them out and they even set aside a piece of land on the park which you can let the dog of the lead to exercise, why more parks don't do this is beyond me.
The only downside was the state of the caravan, even though i appriciate that the dog friendly ones can get a little bit more worn there is no excuse for frayed carpets and the seating was damp on arrival as though it had been treated for stains, another thing that can get quite annoying is when a quilt is provided isn't big enough for the bed, a small thing i know but it does seem to happen everywhere.
The staff on site were fantastic, always friendly and willing to help and i couldn't speak highly enough of them all.
So overall, i would recommend this park to everybody but it just needs to make sure that the caravans don't get to tatty.
