“Wonderful cottage in a lovely location! Highly Recommended”
Reviewed 21 April 2013 for a stay in March 2013

I stayed at this cottage as a group of 6 adults (3 couples) in early March 2013 to celebrate my 30th Birthday and it was just wonderful.

The cottage is just perfect - fitted out in a contemporary but cosy style. It promotes open plan living and so really good for a group stay.
Kitchen is well kitted out with plenty of cupboard space, work top space, large electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine (make sure you bring your own detergents if staying for more than a few days).
Lounge has a really comfortable L shaped sofa and a chair which is just the right size for 6 adults. There is a rather large log burner which is lovely to heat in the chilly evenings - again make sure you bring some additional wood!
Dining table is situated behind the table and plenty big enought.
Bedrooms - all very comfotable beds and fresh linen and towels.
Bathrooms - modern and clean.
Garden - we had a dog and was great for him to sit out there. Would be really nice on a hot a sunny day but was a bit chilly when we were there.
Free wifi - worked great and definitely needed because phone and 3G coverage is patchy to say the least!
Parking - there is an hour-stay car park directly opposite the cottage - DO NOT PARK THERE FOR MORE THAN AN HR, YOU'LL BE TICKETED. There is a permit for one vehice in high season (from May I think) but this didn't kick in for our stay but there was plenty of parking 3-5min walk from the cottage on other residential roads.
Safety for chiildren - The cottage is situated directly on the road toward the beach so just be mindful that your kids don't go through the front gate until you're ready and able to supervise!

Beach - Crantock Beach is the most beautiful beach I have ever been to in Great Britain. Sand dunes, massive beach, dog friendly - see photos to see for yourself. The beach is really what made this holiday! We also walked to Polly Joke which was a lovely walk and a really lovely beach too.

We had a day out to Newquay using the bus (bus stop RIGHT outside the cottage) and was £7 return for 2 adults. Have to say Newquay has nothing on Crantock and we were happy when we could get back to the cottage to relax then go for a walk on the beach.

Negatives:
The BBQ was still dirty from the last residents who'd used it and therefore had mould which we had to clean. There also weren't any BBQ utensils available however the owners of the cottage next door were around and so we were able to borrow some from them.

Overall this was a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend this for a group stay, especially out of season because the beach is beautful whatever time of year and you get a lot for your money!

“Beautiful cottage in ideal location”
Reviewed 12 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

We had a wonderful week in this gorgeous cottage, which appeared to have been newly refurbished to an immaculate standard. Crantock's a beautiful quiet Cornish village with the best of both worlds as bustling Newquay's only round the corner. The cottage itself was very tastefully done out, with all modcons, from TV with bluray and DVD, ipod dock and really well fitted out kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious - lovely comfy beds - and two bathrooms. plenty of storage, including a shed at the bottom of the garden to keep your beach gear in. Often rentals can feel disappointing as your own home's so much nicer, but this felt like a real home from home - if not better.

“Great facilities in a great location”
Reviewed 12 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

The Brambles is a newly refurbished property and has been done up to very high standards. We were very impressed with the comfort and facilities and had a very relaxing fortnight with 2 teens and a 7 year old. Beach is great too. Agent very quick to respond and sort out a couple of blown lightbulbs. We also had a clean midway through the fortnight which was great. Would definitely recommend to others.
