my husband and I were looking for somewhere to stay in the area having camped near Crantock many years previous. A great place to stay for our 25th wedding anniversary. Our room with four poster bed tea and coffee making facilities was superb. Views to die for from the bedroom window across our favourite beach the sand dunes and the sea. This Hotel is immaculate and nothing was too much trouble for the owners who were welcoming and great fun. Including drying my trousers on return from a walk in a massive storm .cream tea in the garden on arrival was a pleasant way to start our few days away. Our 22 year old daughter joined us for the first night and was delighted with her room and expressed a wish to return within minutes. breakfast was delicious and the evening meal on the second night was the best we have eaten in a long time. Congratulations to Elaine and Paul on providing a wonderful place to stay. We will recommend to all of our friends. Thankyou for an amazing experience Sue Nick and Alana

Room Tip: chose a room with sea view

My husband and I were looking for somwhere to spend our 25th wedding anniversary in this area having camped in the area many years previous. We were not disappointed. This small hotel has the most amazing views. Our room with four poster bed did not disappoint with views over the sand dunes and crantock beach. Itwas spotlessly clean and with tea and coffee making facilities was perfect. The owners were welcoming and fun and nothing was too much trouble, even drying my trousers when caught in a downpour . Breakfast was superb and our evening was the best we have had anywhere in a long time. Our 22 year old daugher also stayed for one night and had a beautiful single room and instantly expressed a wish to return. Will recommend to all of our freinds

Room Tip: A room facing the sea

We stayed for 11 nights and enjoyed every minute. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice. The location in the quiet village of Crantock was a good choice to tour the rest of Cornwall.
Crantock has 3 pubs all serving food along with the traditional village shop with one of the old fashioned Post Office mail boxes outside. We can really recommend this Hotel ****** we shall go again.

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights as part of our 5 and a half weeks honeymoon in the UK, we are Australians from Brisbane. We did not regret our stay here one bit. We felt very at home, and the owners were very helpful when we had a bit of a drama during our stay. Loved the views from our bedroom and the setting sun over the ocean was a highlight as we don't get that in Brisbane! We get the sunrise over the ocean back at home! Loved the area and Cornwall, will definitely think about coming back. The owners went out of their way welcoming us and we felt very much at home here. Highly recommend this hotel for a holiday.

A group of eighteen bell ringers made this hotel their base for a three day ringing tour of this part of Cornwall. We were made so welcome by Paul and Elaine who could not have been more helpful and accommodating. We all appreciated the excellent breakfasts and delicious buffet dinners which we had previously agreed were the most appropriate for our gathering. The rooms were comfortable and well-appointed and we all agreed that The Fairbank was a home from home. The sea views were beautiful and it was great to be able to go to sleep to the roar of Atlantic breakers. The Betty Stoggs bitter made a welcome change from the usual keg beer which most hotels have on tap. We are hoping that they will have us all back again next year!

Room Tip: Definitely ask for a sea view so you can sit in bed with a cup of tea in the morning admiring the vi...

Fairbank Hotel is situated in a small village just outside Newquay; ideal if you want some peace and quiet without being too far away from the amenities of a large town. It was very comfortable and clean with wonderful views of Crantock Beach which is easily accessible from the hotel. Breakfast was very good, as was dinner on the one occasion that we dined in. Elaine and Paul were relaxed, welcoming and friendly. They provided excellent service and went out of their way to ensure that we had a great stay. We will definitely go there again as it was exactly what wanted!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a beach view.

Wonderful location, nice facilities, terrible hospitality. In 3 days we didn't get one smile. We felt like we were putting them out and very unwelcome. This was a shame as it was otherwise very nice and food ect was good.

We are always concerned to see a review such as this as without fail we greet people to our hotel with a smile and warm welcome and always chat to guests as they come in and out and am certain we would have greeted you in exactly the same manner. Looking back I see you stayed for 2 nights and were part of a wedding group. I recall we arranged tables at breakfast so that guests could sit with other members of their party and much socialising went on amongst family and friends. Usually we chat to our guests at breakfast but your group were in deep conversation amongst yourselves therefore we tried to be unobtrusive and go about service discretely. We were extremely busy over this weekend and as a small hotel we do everything ourselves, including waiting up for people coming back in the early hours of the morning, which occurred on both nights of your stay - although I appreciate this was not you. So if you felt neglected in anyway we can only apologise and put it down to the fact we were concentrating on keeping everyone happy with their requests - including non wedding guests. I would also like to add that if people staying at the hotel engage us in conversation, or smile at us we smile back, it is after all a 2 way street!
