Would definitely recommend and hope to stay again.
The property is located in a beautiful spot, with stunning views of the Fowey estuary.
The property itself is very comfortable, provided with everything required for a hassle free, relaxing stay.
In fact it was such a perfect base, there were times when we could have stayed in all day and relaxed.
Having said that the location of Golant is an ideal base for exploring the wider Cornwall area, with several iconic Cornish postcodes being less than an hours drive away.
There is also the option to pick up the Saints Way, which is a couple of hundred yards away from the cottage and take a stroll across the downs to visit Fowey on foot.
As stated at the beginning of this review, would hope to visit again.

“A wonderfully relaxing getaway”
Reviewed 2 November 2014 for a stay in October 2014

This was our second visit to Cascade Cottage and it was every bit as enjoyable as the first. The cottage is well-kept, very clean and comfortable, with everything needed for a relaxing stay. It offers a real home from home. The property's glass front is perfect for watching the comings and goings of the boats and canoeists on the estuary, and you can't help but be immediately calmed by the gentle lapping of the water and the hypnotic rhythms of the tide as it alternates between high and low. Golant itself is a pretty village with a quietly busy undercurrent. We enjoyed accommodating the robins who visit every morning, and also spotting the goods train that occasionally passes alongside the estuary. A highly recommended property for relaxation purposes and a good base for visiting nearby Fowey and surrounding areas.

“View on the River”
Reviewed 16 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

As advertised. Large windows, comfortable seating area, looking at the river and its several small sailing boats moving with the low and high tide; watching the sunset and the moon raising behind the hills across the river! Several foothpaths for the walkers. A superstore at 20 min by car, via the small, scenic, very narrow lanes. A central point to visit small villages, like Mount St. Michael, Fowey, St-Ives, Cape Cornwall and more depending on how far you want to travel during the day (we did and enjoyed every bit of it!). Summer would certainly be the season to explore the region with its very nice sandy beaches! Wi-fi worked very well. Parking facility with a place to turn around except when a car is parked at this place!

“Couldn't wish for better”
Reviewed 23 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

My wife and son stayed at Cascade Cottage after finding it on the internet and could hardly wait to get there.

The wait was so worth it as the cottage is simply excellent in every way, spotlessly clean, well equipped. Nicely furnished and comfy beds are only a few good things that we could say but the list is endless.

Bob has got this just right and the location, stunning views and peacefulness of the area make this a perfect place to stay if you want to explore Cornwall.

We did 900 miles over the week and the only downside is the Cornish roads as they are just too narrow to handle anything larger than a standard estate car unless you are happy spending a lot of time reversing.

We would say to anyone looking to book a cottage in this area that we would look no further as it really is perfect.

An absolute gem of a property and location. Perfect for families, couples and groups of friends. Extremely quiet & peaceful yet near to anything you'd want in this area. Excellent information about things to see and do, also the area's history, beautifully presented and equipped property with astonishing views over the River Fowey. Also very fairly priced - shabby looking trailer rentals nearby were sometimes even more expensive! Highly recommended.

Everything you want from a holiday cottage. We either cycled or walked every day and when we got back this was a wonderful place to sit and relax. Owners handled everything 100% and made booking so easy. Would recommend to anyone. Thank Bob

Driving the last 200 meters is difficult but once you get at Cascade the peace and quiet of this small village sets you at ease. Certainly when you come up in the top-bedroom there is a wow-factor about the view. It was great waking up to the sight of that great, ever-moving estuary. Cascade is close to everything you might want to visit in Cornwall : we did St Michaels Mount, Cape Cornwall, Trelissick, Truro, Lanhydrock, Dodmin Moor, Cothele, Fowey, Polperro (nicer than Looe), Padstow, Boscastle, tintagel, Bedruthan steps.. It takes some driving and foremost walking but it is very rewarding. The house is clean and has everything you need in a holiday rental. The shower is a bit small for guys like me but perhaps that says more about me than about the shower. Strange that it is difficult to find a decent fishmonger, one has to go to a supermarket to buy fish. Luckily there are enough good restaurants to eat fresh fish.
