This beautifully maintained, vintage chalet, is brilliantly situated looking out towards St Ives, two minutes from Hayle's 'Three miles of Golden Sands'. The beach is vast and breathtaking. The chalet is at end of the beach, near the attractive estuary and the town of Hayle itself. A walk to the other end of the beach will reveal majestic sand dunes [on top of which I discovered fresh water ponds, great fun for the dog], surfers aplenty, Godrevy Lighthouse [inspiration apparently for Virginia Woolf's 'To The Lighthouse'] and a jaw dropping steep cove where you can watch large numbers of seals relaxing! There are countless things of interest to visit nearby, but the chalet is such a delight that's it's hard to drag yourself away from it!
Really enjoyed our stay at Sandford. Chalet was clean and tidy and owners were on hand if we needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble. Our family of 6 stayed comfortably and it is in an ideal location overlooking the bay - one of the best locations on the site - and we have stayed in a few! Good for surfing and sunsets to die for.
Messaged the owner twice with the original quote attached to the message via Trip Advisor.
Upon confirming the size of our party (2 adults and 3 excited children) and placing deposit, the quote quite suddenly jumped to 3 times the price originally given.
While I appreciate that computer errors can occur, an apology would not go amiss.
The chalet was really lovely and in such a beautiful location. We had a great week with sunny weather. It is small but has everything you need.
