Well equipped cottage in an interesting town. This was a great quiet getaway in the middle of January. Arrived by train - about a 20 minute walk from train station. Enjoyed long walks over dunes to lovely beach. Co op supermarket a 5 minute walk -local fish and chip shop closed for the month but it was easy to shop and prepare meals in well lit kitchen. Stairs and top step to bathroom/bedrooms quite steep so not for mobility impaired

“The name says it all.”
Reviewed 31 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

We stayed in Cosy Cottage for a short break in March. The owner who was very friendly and helpful greeted us shortly after arrival and explained the heating system and other arrangements including providing a warning regarding the head height on the stairs and the steep step at the top.

Having previously rented it was particularly pleasing to arrive to find that the owners had provided all your basic essentials, there was a wide range of cooking utensils, a cloth and washing up liquid, basic condiments, all the things you frequently forget to bring and have to go out and buy, these little touches were much appreciated. As a couple we did not cook during our stay but I am sure people would not experience any difficulties in cooking a family meal with the equipment provided.

Parking was directly outside of the property, we only experienced an issue with parking on one evening but were able to park relatively close to the property so it was not a big issue.

The owners had helpful providing information about the local area and my husband and I discovered a lovely fishing village as a result. The weather during our visit was dry and sunny, although slightly cold, all in all an enjoyable break.

Lovely well maintained cottage. Decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Situated in the village of Hayle, close to all local amenities and beaches. 5 mins drive to St Ives. Highly recommended.

“Excellent cottage to explore Cornwall”

Cosy Cottage was a great find. Booked easily with Ben and Vicky, phoned them when we got close to Hayle so they could meet us to exchange keys and instructions. All useful - warned about the neighbour's cat (that did come in handy) and the giant top step of the staircase which always caught me out!

The cottage itself was clean and tidy, lovely kitchen which got the best of the sunlight. The living room area was nice and still light even though it was facing the street - the only thing I missed would have been a little coffee table to rest mugs on rather than risking them on the floor.
Two decent sized bedrooms - one double at the rear of the cottage and one bunk bed/single bed at the front. Again both clean and tidy. The bathroom had bath/shower and has had a blind added since some other reviews :)

We chose to stay in Hayle as it is within easy reach of everything we wanted to see (St Ives, Eden Project, Minack, Land's End, Penzance etc) but Hayle itself was actually quite nice too. The cottage is a tiny walk from the main street where there are pubs, shops, supermarkets etc. Also a short drive or decent walk to the beach - massive beach!

Parking for the cottage wasn't a problem for us, it is on road parking but we always managed to be near the cottage rather than halfway down the road. Some of the adjacent roads are quite narrow but we had no trouble. We had no problems with noise, the neighbours were friendly, the neighbour's cat was friendly - I can't really fault any of that. The cottage might be a bit small if you did travel as a group of 4-6 people and as expected I did whack my head on the top of the stairs (but that's nothing new in a small cottage).
