We arrived at Wee Cott after a nine hour drive, to find a warm cosy home with some milk in the fridge a Christmas tree and a present of generous biscuits, what a nice welcome, thank you very much. The weather was very windy and wet but we did still have some lovely walks along the beaches. St Ives is only a short drive and such a nice place to visit.
The information pack sent to us was very helpful, although in the directions where you turn opposite the Jet garage, this is now a Texaco garage..
Perfect location on a quiet holiday site for getting to some fabulous places. Go running on the Towans beaches (with the dog if you keep to Mexico Towans), have breakfast at the beach cafe or travel further afield to or St Ives, Penzance, Godrevy.
If you're into National Trust places then you won't be disappointed with what's on offer locally and further up by the Helston area. Look out for seals around the coast or take a marine expedition trip to see dolphins, minke whales and blue fin tuna, not to mention the birdlife! Loads of options for eating out but if your'e dining in, the kitchen at Wee Cott is well equipped. Wonderful sunsets over the bay!!
We have just returned from a week here and I have to say, I completely fell in love with it.
The chalet is well equipped although it is about to go through a refurbishment ready for the 2018 season - although please leave that delightful marble floor alone in the bathroom ;-)
The location is perfect and only a few minutes walk though the dunes to the beach. Each day we enjoyed long, lazy walks on the beach. The site itself is nice & peaceful and when the tide is out, we can highly recommend the walk from the site to Hayle town where you'll enjoy a well deserved local ale. Failing that, try the Bucket of Blood along the lane.
I wish the new owners all the luck in the world with their new chalet, it really is a wonderful little gem of a place.
Just come back from a week away in this chalet. Had such a nice time.
The Chalet itself is very cute inside and feels homely with it's lovely touches and seaside theme and all you need for self catering.
The park is peaceful and in a great location. Walking distance to the fabulous beach. 4 miles long I believe. Lovely sand and the seas gorgeous.
Pub that does good food too right by the sea. Lovely view from in and outside. Breakfast by the ocean is a great way to start the day!
Hayle is in a good location to visit other worthwhile places such as St Ives, Lands End, Mullion, St Michaels Mount and many others.
I've already recommended this place to family members and friends. One friend from Plymouth came to visit for the day and loved it too.
The park and chalet is dog friendly and although the nearest beach has a dog ban from Easter til September, the dog friendly beach is only a 10 - 15 minute drive away and so worth it. It's huge and beautiful and a pleasure to be on with other dog owners as all the dogs played together on the beach and in the sea.
You can reach the dog friendly side from walking distance but means a very short swim across which wasn't deep at all around lunch time and made it all the more fun!
There is a large Asda less than 10 minutes away in the car and a Spar shop a 5 minute walk away.
I would have quite happily stayed another week.
Moira who I booked the break with who owns the chalet was brilliant. Very high standard of customer service, lots of recommendations of things to do and responds to contact very quickly if needed.
10/10 from me :-) xx
ps... And the double bed is super comfy!!

We have just spent a week in this chalet. Its three bedrooms and would sleep 5,which would be fine when the weather is good, but i can imagine it would be a bit of a squash on a rainy day as the living area is quite small. There were two of us and a dog and we found it perfect for our needs. Fully equipped kitchen, every kitchen utensil imaginable! The photos show steps to the front of the chalet, please note these have been taken out and its quite steep and can be slippery when wet. Car parking is to the back and its easier to walk around to the front as its more level. Site is lovely and quiet, people were friendly. Close to fabulous beaches and good walks. St Ives a short drive away. We could easily have stayed a few more days! Lots of blackberries at this time of year, lovely with yoghurt! Owners are great, very helpful and easy to contact with any queries.
