We have been to the Paris a few times when visiting friends at lovely Coverack. The Paris is their local pub and the atmosphere is great. We attended the quiz (didn't do very well) and ate there .I had the sea bass , which was delicious and my husband chose the seafood chowder ,excellent. This is a great pub with a charming history named after an ocean going liner which ran aground nearby . Hope we have many more visits.

Plenty of food, three roasts and plenty of vegetables but compared to other lunch buffets it is now quite expensive for a family.

Not the nicest by far. This was our second attempt of eating a sunday roast at The Paris, and our last. Parking is very difficult, as we were entering the pub, we followed all the frozen yorkshire puddings - shame. We were seated in the restaurant area and then basically left. It was unclear if it was table service or self service, after calling the attention of one of the waitresses (who showed not much enthusiasm or politeness) we were told that we were to order our drinks at the bar and because we had ordered 2 roasts and 1 fish pie we would have to wait for the pie to arrive before we could go and get our roasts... fair enough. The drinks arrived with the food we were then told we could go up and get the roasts. The meat was very dry and fairly chewy, there was a selection of veg, all of which was very dull in colur and in general over cooked. Nice gravy though. The year before we went and veg and meat was much nicer. However at the end of our meal, asked for the bill and were told very rudely by the waitress to go to the bar, when we told the girl behind the bar what we had had our bill was doubled from what it should have been. This is exactly what happened the year before. We explained how it couldn't possibly be so much and all we got back was a lot of attitude. Finally after showing the girl with a calculator, we were charged the right amount. Incoverack there aren't many options for a roast on a sunday, hence why we went back there hoping to give them a second chance. The fact that we have been overcharged to double the amount twice is worrying, do they do this to all foreigners? We recomend that you check your bill and ask for one as each time she did it in her head and on the till and never gave us a detailed receipt.
