“Possibly the best garden in Cornwall”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

I went to Bonython Manor Gardens on a private visit in early June and had the most wonderful time. The garden was opened just for my group, the borders and kitchen garden were at its best. the white border was the most delicate thing ever! We really enjoyed it and look forward to being back!

“Warning ! This is a garden.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 July 2014

We went to Bonython on a very hot sunny day. We parked on the grass in the car park. We walked through some woods and saw a shed with some information and how to pay the entrance fee.
Walking around the edge of the house to the walled garden it is obvious that this is a place where people are working hard to deliver.
Into the beautiful walled garden where the Head Gardener Vicky, takes your cash. She is extremely knowledgeable about the garden and the local area.
The DIY tea, coffee and cake was brilliant with seats and tables close by.
The garden has already been described here in various ways but for us it was such a relaxing calm place with an overwhelming sense of tranquility. The light changes as you walk around the water with the trees and bushes shielding you. We loved it.
This place doesnt have big cafes, kids facilities or Dinosaurs hiding in the foliage. Its a quiet garden for a bit of quiet contemplation.
It just feels different to the other Cornish gardens. Go and see Vicky and experience the peace.

“Slightly disappointing”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 May 2014

The gardens themselves are pleasant enough, especially on a sunny day, but we felt that they were over-priced - and we hadn't realised that the refreshments on offer were do-it-yourself in a little hut by the walled garden.

“We will be back!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 May 2014 via mobile

We have only just discovered this garden which is clearly still being developed.
It varies from the more formal walled garden to lawned area and a beautiful walk alongside a lake and ponds following the connecting stream.
Yes,there is still a lot of work to be done however we will gladly return just for the walk around the water - inviting, meandering, interesting.
Four stars at the moment - although it will clearly be a 'five star' destination as it is developed.

PS The catering is at present very limited - an honesty box with hot water, tea bags, instant coffee,a few cakes, etc.

“Relaxing”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

A quiet corner of Cornwall and a relaxing couple of hours. Not too expensive to get in, but many attractions in Cornwall seem to be getting overpriced. Can recommend.
