Fantastic few hours spent with Charles - have done several wine tours both here and abroad but have never learnt this much about wine. Considering he has only been growing vines for 10 years he knows an enormous amount and makes it utterly fascinating. It’s a very down to earth place with no ‘plush tourist trappings’! We particularly loved the Rosé and bought several bottles. Would definitely return when we next come back to the area.

A great afternoon with Charlie's fascinating tour of the vineyard and wine production facilities. The whole story from the planting and then nurturing of the vines to picking the grapes and creating the wonderfu wines. Charlie really knows his stuff... not least when it comes the much anticipated wine tasting at the end of tour.. be warned this is not rushed, there is a surprising amount to learn about how to taste wine.

Having heard that Looe Valley Vine Yard had opened its doors in May 2018 to tours, we decided to take along a group of local friends, for an afternoon tour in the July sunshine.

Located not far from St Keyne, the vineyard is situated in a lovely secluded spot with beautiful views across the valley.

Charles, the owner, met us on arrival and carried out the tour. His passion and knowledge for his business was obvious and we all enjoyed learning about the different grape varieties and growing techniques.

The tour of the vineyard and equipment took a very pleasant hour, before proceeding to a lovely relaxed spot in the garden for the tasting. There were four excellent varieties to taste, and we enjoyed the relaxed, unpretentious surroundings and the friendly way in which the tour was delivered.

Everyone commented what an enjoyable time they’d had and how wonderful it was to have somewhere like this on our own doorstep.

Thank you Charles and team for a fabulous afternoon out. We will be back!

Heard about this little vineyard on the radii back in Spring and decided to visit when in area - I wasn't disappointed. Charlie was a brilliant host, very knowledgeable and informative. If you've ever wanted to learn about the art of viticulture with some 'hands on' practice thrown in, then this is the place for you. Unlike bigger vineyards where everything is mechsnised, this young vineyard is operated totally hands on by Charlie and his wife Sue, so you learn an awful lit more and come away with a deeper understanding of the wine making process. The added bonus is you that get detailed lesson in wine tasting, allowing you to fully appreciate the excellent wine that is produced and bottled on site Altogether a really interesting and great experience

What a fantastic afternoon.
Charlie was a very welcoming host and gave us a very interesting, hands on, tour of his incredible vineyard. Explaining the process of growing a vineyard and bottling wine.
My boyfriend and I were the only ones on the tour and got to help out with the upkeep of the vines using the tools provided. Then we were taught how to taste wine properly and got to choose three from a selection of wines to taste.
The sun was shining, the friendly dogs cute companions and a most pleasant afternoon was had.
Would highly recommend a visit.
