Description: A busy bistro set in the heart of the idyllic town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall. Calogero's was formally known as Terra Nova. We felt that the surname of the Sicilian head chef, who took over the business in 2011, was better suited to the type of food we now serve. Calogero's is pronounced with a soft 'g'. Our menu ranges from authentic home cooked Italian meals to traditional English dishes, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients. We have a large selection of vegetarian dishes and a separate minimal gluten menu (no gluten containing ingredients). Freshly ground Italian sourced coffee and treats are served throughout the day.

Well what can I say about this super place , our son and his family holiday in Bodmin , and we came and saw them for a few days , they took us to this amazing restaurant ,! Food was superb , the staff and owners were so attentive to all our needs , even going that extra mile to do something different for one of our grandchildren !!! The ambience of the restaurant is lovely , it has a section towards the back that is a step up which would be lovely for a group of friends , would really recommend , this place so do try if you are in this area. , thank you for a great evening Janet and James Bennett .

Our first visit to this restaurant and it won't be our last!
The service and the food were excellent. The choices on the menu were varied and they have an ideal children's menu.
The meatballs were terrific as was the rest of the meal!
Keep up the good work!

Very tasty, I had a good salad which is something hard to find. For a lunchtime it was busy.
Only down side was the decor looking tired, in need of a good spring clean and decorate.

Four of us went to Terra Nova to eat on Saturday 16th August.
We had read some decent reviews and the Menu looked varied and quite interesting.
The appetizers (including spicy prawns, risotto balls and calamari) were all excellent and a very decent size. The main courses were even more substantial and the quality was quite unexpectedly good. I had Seafood Pasta and was unable to finish it - it was beautifully cooked and unlike many seafood dishes, packed with prawns, mussels and squid. The other meals were excellently presented, very substantial and delicious. We have already recommended this restaurant to our relatives in the area and look forward to returning next tome we are down here.
I should also add that for the four of us including wine, one dessert and 2 coffees the price was surprisingly low.

Came here after a recommendation and I have to say I wasn't disappointed.

We booked a table for 7pm and the original plan was to come up the river by boat but unfortunately the tide was against us so we had to put the table back and come by car. The waitress was helpful and re-organised our table which was kind
The decor is pleasant and the staff friendly. The menu isn't extensive but there is something for everyone and it's reasonably priced considering the portion sizes which are mahoosive!

It's all very tasty and well cooked

Would I come again/recommend?

Yes I would
