We visit Boconnoc House and a small portion of the grounds, as a group from a gardening club. We were met by the owner Mrs Fortescue and her staff and made very welcome. We were shown round the beautiful grounds to see some of the stunning spring gardens. All in a riot of colour. The parkland stretches for miles and is truly spectalur. As are the views from the terraces.

We were also shown round the church and we received a potted history of the estate which was very insteresting. Later we spent time in the beautiful house being shown around before having a splendid lunch. The visit was about three hours long, but I for one would love to have been there for much longer to at least walk by the lake. However, the lunch was a wonderful end to our trip to Boconnoc and to Cornwall.

We purchased tickets to have a guided tour of Boconnoc House followed by a cream tea. We were greeted by the owner Anthony Fortescue, then weregiven an chat about the history of the house by his wife, it was very interesting. The tour of house, church & gardens was given by Pattie who has lived in the area for 40 years & obviously loved the area. The afternoon ended with a delicious cream tea & Lady Fortescue joined us. A very enjoyable afternoon.

We visited the Cornwall Garden Society Flower Show recently. What a magnificent event. Wonderful spring flowers and a huge array of plant stalls of every description. Excellent variety of food available and of course lots of friendly Cornish chat. The House and Park are magnificent, a truly lovely setting amidst rolling hills and lots and lots of trees. Quite superb. Would highly recommend a visit to any of the special shows which take place at this country estate.
