Excellent hotel. The outside does not prepare you for the inside. Tasteful reception rooms and cosy snug! Wonderful welcome from Jane on Reception. We had a spacious ground floor, pet friendly room for the 2 of us and our small dog. Very comfortable and clean with everything we needed. Although the room faces South Street, the traffic noise was minimal. We had dinner in the lounge bar which is dog friendly. The pie and mash is fabulous. The service was faultless, we're sorry we don't know the name of the young lady who served us but thank you! Breakfast in the restaurant was very good too. Our little dog happily slept in our car in a throw for warmth, windows open, anticipating SAUSAGE while we had breakfast. Super selection of continental and cooked on offer. Lisa waited on us and again the service was faultless. Lisa is a terrific ambassador for the hotel, very knowledgeable about Lostwithiel and area. Thanks to all and we wish you a Happy Christmas and New Year.

Stayed for 1 night and the room was spacious, very clean, comfortable bed. The breakfast was extremely good with lots of choice and again spotlessly clean and hygienic. I especially liked the individual fruit bowls and coffee was lovely.

Having had an enjoyable stay in September 2022, we were keen to return for another short stay. We found a great offer on Groupon, three nights B and B with a cream tea included as well.

We contacted the hotel in advance to make a couple of requests and these were fulfilled.

Our room was spacious and nicely decorated with plenty of storage space as well as the usual features such as TV and tea/coffee making facilities. There is work going on in the hotel and our room appeared to have been fairly recently decorated.

Breakfast was served in the restaurant. There was plenty of choice of cereals, fruit, toast etc as well as a cooked breakfast made to order.

We ate in the restaurant one evening and had a nice meal. Service was a little slow but this was not an issue for us. The restaurant is currently only open Monday to Friday evenings.

Our cream tea exceeded our expectations, including two scones each plus a large pot of tea!

There was an outdoor pool and we regretted not bringing our swimming costumes as this was heated and was very appealing.

Lostwithiel itself is a small quaint village of around 3000. We travelled by train and the station was an easy 10 minute walk. On one of our days there was a train strike so we took the opportunity to walk to Restormal Castle which took about 30 minutes each way.

We stayed for 2 nights in a triple room and couldn’t fault a thing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The room was lovely, the beds very comfy. We had all we needed and more. The fridge in the room was a bonus! The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was delicious. The heated outdoor swimming pool was fantastic, we all loved that. Parking easy and location great for visiting various locations. A very enjoyable mini break and we would definitely go there again!
