This is abit of an odd place, it seems to be single handedly run by a fairly old woman. The rooms are quite old, dust all over the curtains, musty smelling, cracked ceilings, no tea/ coffee making facilities in the bedroom and shared bathroom even though we requested an en suit. To top it off, we were told to make sure we sleep with the topsheet between us and the duvet as she doesn't always wash the duvet sheets... I was quite disturbed by this, God knows when the duvet sheets last had a good wash.
The other really odd thing is that no-one is given a key to lock their bedroom or a key to the front door, so you have to prey none of your belongings get stolen and constantly ring the door bell to come in. Its not one of those places you can come and go from or treat as a home away from home. The old lady expects the house to be empty by 10am ish and expects everyone to be out until the evening. We actually arrived back one time at 3pm to find she was out and had to wait for 3 hours for her to get back. Needless to say, we checked out that day after 2 nights. We were scheduled to stay for 3 nights. She still charged us for 2 and a half nights even though she had kept us waiting outside the building for 3 hours and had no guests booked in for the night.
Breakfast was about the only nice thing, cooked and served by the old lady.
Don't be fooled by the prices on the website. Website states £26 pp for a double room. However we paid £30 pp for 1 double room so £60 in total which I think is over priced for what you get. Bed wasn't really a double bed either, it was more like a queen size bed.
The old lady is nice but she's constantly asking you where your going and what your plans are, a little too much sometimes. She also owns a cat who has free reign of the house, so if you don't like cats stay away.
I wouldn't stay again. Ruined the holiday a little.
