We stayed at the farm with our children. Although animal feeding was a highlight for them, it was hardly worth the extortionate rates charged to stay in accomodation which frankly was mediocre. The shower was barely a dribble and the bed clothes smelt. We were bitten by bed bugs too! We did not expect luxury but the website makes the farm look as though it is a mecca for children and a luxurious heaven for parents. In fact it is quite dangerous being a working farm with lots of agricultural machinery driving far too quickly about the place. The indoor swimming pool was a nice touch but rented out to the (unfriendly) locals so not exclusively for the guests use.The light in the swimming pool changing room often did not work (and trust me it was needed as if I had attempted to wash my hair in the cottage, I would still be there now!). Again, the play barn is nice for the kids but nothing special and many of the little darlings would trample their manure sodden wellies through the soft play area (hence another need for a decent shower and maybe even some hand wash?!!) Next time, we will save the £2500 and stay at home! We can take them to a petting farm and our little ones will at least get to wash their hands after touching goats and sheep! I thought that farms these days had to insist that children do wash their hands after touching animals? Not so at Tredethick.... not a sink or alcohol rub in sight!!

Room Tip: Take your own soap, it is not provided! And some dry shampoo!

Had a lovely week here in July 2011, and if i could afford it i would be back again already!
Accomodation is lovely, we stayed in the smallest cottage (Scantlebury), and upon arrival there was a tray of scones, jam & tea waiting, very much appreciated after long journey. Farmer Tim was great with the kids and by the end of the week my 2 girls (age 2 & 7) were feeding the anmals from their hands. The Sandpit was a great hit for my 2 year old & my 7 year old loved the heated pool. The village itself is beautiful and has some lovely quaint shops. It was hard to take the girls away from the farm but when we managed it spent few lovely days in Fowey & Padstow, both gorgeous towns. Would have no doubts recommending this holiday for kids especially for families with toddlers. Superb!

Room Tip: Dont worry which one u get, all great!

We have just returned from a week at the farm and could not recommend it more to families of small children. The soft play area scored major brownie points with my 3 year old and the provision of scooters and ride on tractors was brilliant! My son flourished in confidence over the week due to the animal feeding and pony riding. He was initially terrified of the animals but with encouragement from Farmer TIm and Farmer Jenny, he was feeding the lambs and chickens by hand after just a few days. We stayed in the Granary which was fantastic. The accomodation was expensive but worth it. You get what you pay for!

Absolutely fantastic, children and parents had a wonderful time thanks to Farmer Tim, Farmer Jenny and the lovely other families who were there at the same time as us. We thought the whole set up was extremely thoughtful right down to the lay out of the cottage which required none of the usual rearranging to accommodate small children. The daily animal feeding and the twice weekly pony rides were absolutely loved by the children. The indoor soft play room was a great feature, perfect to end the day in (especially good for all the rain we had while staying). Any room for improvement - very little really, the prices charged are high so Tredethick sets itself a very high standards to meet - we thought that it was worth it and delivered on the promises made and more. Perhaps the provision of high chairs in the cottages on request could be considered. Highly recommended, probably the best place we have stayed with the children and we look forward to returning at some point in the future.

Lovely location with loads to do for young children which was excellent, but accomodation wasn't as plush as I had imagined. Little things like supplying your own loo roll was a bit disappointing, as its not cheap. Also we were never greeted or saw anyone from the farm for three days on arrivalm and not once did anyone enquire if we were ok or needed anything.
But that aside the kids loved every minute of it, loads of animals, trampoline, scooters, play ground, heated pool and soft play - a great place come rain or shine x

I am very hard to please, but I love this place! Great as a family destination if you have young children (pre-school and primary school age). Plenty at the farm to keep the children happy, and many things to do in the surrounding area too. The accommodation is high quality, and Farmer Tim and co. are very friendly.
My kids had a great time - and so did their parents.
A little pricey, but I think overall it is well worth it (I guess you get what you pay for). Would definitely go again.
P.S. In October in Cornwall wellies are an essential!

This place remains our favourite holiday destination for a family break. Great standard of cottage, tastefully renovated and well appointed. Peaceful farm setting only 10mins away from a variety of beaches and coastal towns of Fowey etc.

Farmer Tim and the team have got it sorted for the kids, daily animal feeding, twice weekly pony rides, indoor soft play with coffee and papers for the big kids. Lovely indoor swimming pool , huge playbarn with table tennis , table football, pool, sandpit, large trampoline, footy pitch etc.

Its the attention to detail that makes the difference here though - party bags for the kids appear in the chicken shed, cream teas waiting for you on arrival, a great memory on the part of Tim for the kids names, organic local produce in the honesty shop.

Lots to do locally, eden project 15mins , Fowey 15mins , beaches 10mins , Lostwithiel quite charming in the centre with small local shops and historic castle.

All in all 10/10. Is it expensive ? No more than other quality places in the school holidays, and you can't put a price on happy kids and some time to enjoy a glass of wine in peace !
