We stayed in sand castles in early October! We can't fault it- we had a lovely stay, and wished we had booked to stay longer as we didn't have enough time to do everything that the area had to offer! We arrived to a lovely welcome pack, and a spotless apartment! The beds are extremely comfy- 5* hotel quality! We are already looking at dates for which we can return next year.
We stayed at Sandcastles in September and from arrival we new we had chosen well. The apartment is everything you need and so much more. It is well furnished with quality furniture and the lay out makes the most of the views from the large window. The beds are super comfy to aid sleeping unless of course you have been out walking the dog on the beach just minutes away then you will sleep like a log. On the complex there is also a private outdoor pool which in warmer weather will be bliss. I challenge anyone to find fault with Sandcastles as you will want for nothing as it has everything you need complete will welcome pack of goodies and is a credit to the owner. Would we stay again, too right we would
Arrived for a weekend out of season.
The area is perfect for weekend breaks or summer holidays. A beautiful large sandy beach a stones throw from the apartment.
A heated outside pool is available and a great extra.
Lots of things to do and a great spot for exploring the Cornish coastline.
The apartment to spotlessly clean and refurbished to a high standard, stylish and elegant with a traditional Cornish feel. It offers all modern amenities including dishwasher, fridge, sky tv with sky sports ( with large modern tv’s in lounge and both bedrooms) , good free WiFi.
Overall this is a modern well priced apartment with everything you could ask for on your door step.
First - the apartment is brilliant - recently refurbished (summer 2017) to a very high standard. It was just the right size for us (2 adults and 2 kids) and the complex also has a pool which is a good size for messing about in, although not for serious swimming. The location is great too - about 300 metres from Mawgan Porth beach and with a surprisingly good array of shops / cafes / pub and restaurant within the same distance. We found Mawgan Porth to be a good location for exploring Cornwall too with plenty of beaches and other days out easily accessible without having to drive for too long.
A couple of things to be aware of about the apartment however. First the kitchen does not have a freezer (or even an ice box in the fridge) - if you plan to order your groceries to be delivered when you arrive be aware that your cold storage space is limited to the one under worktop fridge. Second - unlike many of the holiday apartments there is no washing machine although there are launderettes available in Newquay. And finally - beware the very sensitive smoke alarm when cooking!
Overall we loved the place - the apartment and its location - and would definitely recommend it.
