We’ve just arrived home and we now have the saddest puppy in the world without her horse and donkey friends! Thank you to Claire for creating a beautiful oasis of peace and relaxation; a stunning location and everything you could think of in the property. We will come back xx
We have just returned from staying a week in this beautiful converted barn. On first arrival you wonder if the directions are correct...turn right at first telegraph pole. Until you are upon it you can’t even see the track! It is long and through another farm (yard) but when you arrive you are very remote but beautiful views across fields.
We were made very welcome by Clare and her family and found a welcome pack of scones, jam and clotted cream which started the weight gain for the week. There were also eggs, that had come all of 20 feet away, so fresh and such bright yellow yokes, certainly not supermarket!
The accommodation is spacious, upside down, ie bedrooms downstairs and kitchen, dining and lounge upstairs with the views across the fields. Having bought my elderly mother in law we were worried that the barn would be too cold but it has extremely efficient central heating and too hot to use the wood burner. The whole place is very well equipped and comfortable. We were extremely lucky to have a week of good weather but there enough DVDs, games, consoles etc to keep you occupied for a month!
There are chickens, fluffy headed ducks, lambs, miniature donkeys all adding to a fabulous rural atmosphere.
After days sight seeing around the many beautiful places to visit it was great to relax in the hot tub. You can see St Mawgan airport in the distance which is not just for small planes. One evening we saw a Ryanair flight to Alicante taking off, and bathing in the hot tub looking across rural Cornwall I just wondered why would you want to leave this place!
We will be back, thanks Clare!
After winding through narrow Cornish lanes into the farmyard I was greeted by a friendly collie & shown inside the luxurious barn. Stylish, comfortable facilities, friendly hosts, wonderful nights' sleep & the sweetest donkeys mean I'll be coming back.
Nearby St Mawgan is such a pretty village with a old pub, historic church & idyllic setting. The surfing beach at Mawgan Porth shimmered gold & blue even in the cold of winter.
We returned on Saturday from our second visit to Middle Lanherne Barn. The Barn is set down a farm track but the instructions on how to find it are clear making it easy to find. And once there the peace and tranquility begins. The Barn is lovely, well kept and on arrival a thoughtful welcome pack is ready and waiting for you. Claire is attentive to visitors without being intruding, which we really appreciated.
There are so many beautiful beaches within easy reach of the location, that this is now one of our favourite places. And for any chocoholics, take a trip to Kernow Chocolate factory just up the road in St. Eval...their hot chocolates are highly recommended.
We cannot wait to return.
We (a family with 3 teenagers) have just returned from a weeks stay at Middle Lanherne Barn.
It was a bit tricky to locate but considering that, we actually found it quite quickly.
The photos you see don't do it justice as it's lovely inside- spacious, modern and equipped with everything you need.
The hot tub is situated outside the back of the property with stunning views of the countryside. It was well used by us and very welcoming after a day out at the nearby beach and cycling the camel trail.
The welcome basket full of local goodies was very thoughtful and immediately used by us as our on line supermarket delivery never turned up!
We would definitely recommend you come and stay here and experience it for yourselves.
Thanks again Claire for a wonderful week.
