Our third stay at The Scarlet and much improved on our last visit. We had a suite before and this time took a standard room which had a far superior layout. Not as good a view as we looked out over the spa quadrant which meant a sea view was only possible from standing on the balcony , but no big deal. The restaurant has improved with a different chef and excellently cooked fish though the wine list is still quite poor. All hotel staff were excellent though they are running around a bit like headless chickens as any management are a very scarce commodity and getting a drink at poolside can prove difficult. All in I like this hotel and will stay again.

We stayed here for our anniversary in March 2011. I can honestly say it is the nicest hotel I've ever stayed in... it just has it all!
Clean, fresh, stylish rooms. Even if you're staying in the lower priced ones.
Superb views, whilst still being private so not everyone can see in when you open the curtains!
Excellent breakfast menu (and I don't really like breakfast, but there were lots to tempt me).
A dog you can 'borrow' to take a walk on the beach.
Gorgeous hot tubs outside to take in the views.
Top class restaurant.
Great price considering the style and location.
And above all really good service! efficient and friendly without being too formal.

I would LOVE to stay here again, I'd recommend it 110%

This is my second visit to this hotel for the day. The last time I visited was between Christmas and New Year last year. The hotel was fully booked.
Due to the love sunny day there were very few people on the resort and in the hotel. We had the facilities mainly to ourselves for most of the day.
The first joint experience in the treatment room was interesting with an oil scrub and mud and steam.
The soak in the salt seaweed tub was excellent. Just the perfect day to take in the view of the beach.
After doing so little all morning we were both ready for the two course lunch as part of the day package. There was a fair choice of food and the portions were not too large.
The after dinner relaxation was very enjoyable using the steam room and indoor pool. We did not venture into the pool which you can see the photo. Apparently it is deep and you can dive off one of the rocks!
The consultation and massage was very good and beneficial as there is plenty of time give to a consultation to make sure you get the best of your massage time. All therapist has been first class.
The hotel staff were all very accommodating and courtesy. I am looking forward to my next trip there already. Perhaps I will arrange an overnight stay next time!

Room Tip: All rooms have a sea view. Some rooms have a special viewing room!

Fabulous location overlooking the ocean with landscaped gardens, complete with loungers, indoor and outdoor pool and easy access to the beach. Very happy with our spacious room, light, airy and clean with lovely bed, bath and separate shower room.

The relatively remote location means that a dinner package saves you the hassle of booking taxis or driving in the evening. Food is sourced locally and you can taste that quality/freshness.....plus the restaurant has great views of the sunset during the summer.

Perception is that the hotel runs at a less frenetic pace than my life (although I'm sure that plenty of work happens beyond the scenes) and it takes a while to wind down. The welcome is disarmingly good, you get a tour of the facilities and it feels like you've walked into someone's home, almost to the point where you feel like you are intruding - but give it 24 hours and you'll find that you've slowed down yourself, enjoying the facilities and the freedom afforded by so much space.

We had a Spa Journey which was tailored to your personality, so again, let yourself go.

Love the commitment to local producers, employment of local staff and the hotel's environmental ethos generally. You certainly pay for what you get, but it was a wonderfully unique experience.

There is also a cracking shop in Mawgan Porth, selling local produce that is ideal for a picnic....not your usual beachside convenience store. Pitch and putt in the village was good fun too.

Also catch the bus from the village for a day out in Padstow.

Room Tip: Very happy with our spacious room, if you can, go for the dinner and spa package for absolute ease.

I thoroughly enjoyed my trip to the Scarlet Hotel and the staff did everything they could to make our stay enjoyable. Unfortunately non residents in the bar and restaurant ruin the atmosphere for people who have paid a lot of money to relax. I think the hotel should only allow residents to use the facilities.

Spent four glorious days and nights in this lovely gem of a hotel....experienced wonderful food and outstanding service. We took along our beloved dog who was made extremely welcome and enjoyed his runs on the dog friendly beach. There is a lovely clifftop walk to Watergate bay which takes in some breathtaking scenery, but if taking a dog make sure they are on the lead as there are some precarious drops! We were told that it was a two and a half mile walk but I would argue that it's a bit longer and not for the fainthearted or anyone with knee or foot problems. Wonderful though!

The spa in the hotel was exceptional and the therapists are amongst the most gifted and professional I have experienced ( which is a few world-wide...).

I would highly recommend Scarlet to anyone. It IS pricey, but we would certainly justify going back. Ideal location for exploring the Cornish coastline.

Room Tip: Only experienced the unique room which was for clients with dogs, but no smells left behind at all...

Not cheap but as a treat, a pamper or a special occasion it does not get better than this. Although parking is limited and a little tight the welcome is first class and the rooms luxurious with great coastal views, The staff are all well motivated, thoughtful and professional staff and the food whether it be a snack or the works at dinner is of the highest quality.
