If you are looking for a boutique feel in the perfect location, look no further. We loved Seagem, it is beond doubt the best place we have stayed on the North Cornish coast in both view/location and quality of finish/equipment, short of paying silly money you will not beat this.
The view from the balcony & lounge is nothing short of stunning and the access is straight onto the beach; we will be going back, and it will be again and again.
We nearly didnt post a review, only to keep it our brilliant secret! 5*

Sea Gem nestles in the dunes above the beautiful beach at Mawgan Porth. Newly extended and refurbished for 2015 to the highest standard. Tasteful interior design with a layout that makes the most of the stunning view. The temptation is to sit and admire the view all day long, However, if you venture the one minute walk through the dunes onto the beach you will not regret it! At low tide the beach opens out to a huge expanse of golden sands scattered with 'lagoon like' rock pools and dramatic cliffs either side. Head off the beach and up onto those cliffs and enjoy the breathtaking coastal path. To your left, the majestic Watergate Bay ( approximately a comfortable 2 hr walk there and back) or to the right, the 'Jurassic like' Bedruthan steps (a comfortable 1 and 1/2 hr walk there and back but make sure you arrive at Bedruthan at low tide to enjoy the beach). In the village you will find a convenience store for your basics with large supermarkets in Newquay, just 15 minutes drive. If you want a really special treat then walk up the hill and dine at The Scarlet restaurant, this is out of this world and a short walk back via the beach at the end of the evening( remember your torch!) Carole and Anthony have put a great amount of effort into ensuring that Sea Gem is indeed a home from home experience. To us it is the perfect place, our only regret, we didn't stay for longer!

this place is really a gem! this is far the best place we have stayed in so far, the pictures on the website do not do this place justice, if you want modern with a spectacular view then this is your place! its very central u can visit so many places from here like we did instead of driving! we took the local bus to padstow going through villages and the views are to die for!, we drove into newquay and left our car there (long stay car park) and took the train to st ives, carbis bay/penzance and we also drove to Lands end from penzance after hiring a car for the day right at penzance train station!
back to the house---- the house is very modern with all the electrical gadgets at our disposal, its really a clean house and l would not mind booking for next year june when the weather is really hot coz this time around it was sunny but with winds and our last day was miserable with fog lots of it

Mawgan Porth is an unspoilt Cornish village with a good pub, great restaurant, quirky surf school, boutique shops with a village store. Just enough not to spoil the beauty of this coastal village. Halfway between Padstow and Newquay, you can wander 2'ish miles along the coastal path to the majestic Watergate Bay.
Nestled above the dunes, Sea Gem peers out to sea taking in the full view of the cove with its considerate floor plan and clever design.
The house is a haven for relaxation. It's simple yet sleek, on trend decoration, which is easy on the eye, blends with contemporary, comfortable furniture, carefully chosen to compliment the property and offer a home from home environment.
If you're looking for a picture postcard Cornish break in a modern, luxury house, Sea Gem is just perfect.
