Description: Roovrays comes highly recommended...And a Charming and ambient evening awaits you...Tastefully decorated with a French influence due to the French Chef and owner. Great value is offered with the Early Bird menu from 6pm till 6.45pm with 2 courses being £15 and 3 courses only £18. The a la Carte menu starts from 7pm and offers many delights from the freshest of ingredients and local produce. The art of having a relaxed and unhurried evening meal is still very much the main focus here at Roovrays and is done very intentionally by the owners who wish for their guests to have an evening experience enjoying conversation, the live pianist (check on booking when playing),fine wines while your food is unhurriedly cooked to perfection by the owner himself; it won't be a quick affair, just as it should be. Booking is very advisable to save disappointment especially pianist nights as tables go fast.

“Great little restaurant with excellent food”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

We ate here during our recent overnight stay in Mevagissey having read the previous reviews and were not disappointed. Both the food and service were excellent. Whilst I would describe it as a definitely adult place, there were several families here as well. I had the monkfish whilst my partner chose the duck. Both were very nice indeed. To finish we tried the brandy snap baskets with a mix of sorbets. Together with a full bottle of wine the total came to just over £70 which given the quality of food I would call excellent value for money.

“Great evening!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

My partner and I stopped by without making a reservation and were warmly greeted by the waiter who arranged a table for an hour later. We decided to skip starters as we wanted to be sure of space for a dessert. I had goose breast in a rich sauce which was excellent. My partner had lamb shank which was beautifully cooked - moist and falling off the bone. We asked for advice regarding the wine and the waiter helpfully suggested a Cabernet Sauvignon.
The portions were generous. My partner chose chocolate mousse for dessert which was light in texture and very good. My trio of sorbets in a brandy snap basket was sublime. It was sharp and tangy and sweet all at once. We were full by now so asked for the bill rather than having coffee. There was a pleasant ambience to the place and the waiter was most impressive, being able to single handedly serve the entire restaurant without getting flummoxed. The bill came in at around £65 with wine but without service. We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening and would definitely visit again.

“A little gem,”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

A little gem, great food produced and well presented, a nice clean restaurant and also a nice cozy size, no loud hustle and bustle here. It’s a tad on the expensive side so good for the special occasions. Dined twice here in the week we were in town, the second time it was much busier so there was rather a long wait for food. The menu has something for everyone with some good fish choices as one might expect for being located in a fishing town. Recommended.
