Myself and my partner visited Mevagissey in July this year (2014). This charming Cornwall coastal town has an array of eateries. Looking for a late lunch, we looked at several cafes/ restaurants but so many were just that little bit pricey for what we were looking for. We'd spotted "Blue" as we'd strolled around earlier so headed back and to our delight saw a comprehensive menu that was very reasonably priced, in a spotless looking interior that had a number of customers there already but wasn't over crowded so decided to give it a go.
The lady who seated us was smiling and friendly (despite, as we learned later, a late night opening the previous night due to the festival that had taken place in the town!) which made the right first impression. We enjoyed beautiful fresh crab meat crusty rolls, with salad and fries and some wonderful cakes followed by the best coffee we'd tasted on the holidays!
As it was late afternoon by the time we'd finished our mains and were waiting for our cake and coffee we got chatting with another customer and had some great laughs with both the customer and the lady (owner I think) who served us.
What made the occasion for us though was her kindness. She acted the "good coffee Samaritan" and helped us out of a jam seeing it was a Sunday and early closing for the large supermarkets around.
With the good food and charming company we cannot recommend Blue enough. Good food, good value and good people!
If you get to see this ladies, thank you so much!
"The two Irish guys" Sunday 6th July.
