When we walked in it was like going back in time but the atmosphere was great and the food was excellent and the portion was huge. Well worth a visit.

This atmospheric Inn behind the harbour in the quaint fishing village of Mevagissey, with its beams and ivy covered exterior certainly looks the part of the aahhaarr Jim Lad smugglers pub.
A warm welcome and v good service make you feel at home in the cosy interior, and a good pint as you choose from the carvery menu, Lamb or Beef today, sets the scene.
Derek chose Lamb and I chose beef. both were generous ,home cooked portions, the Lamb looking especially inviting, the beef a little tough and a little dry, although a great flavour, the Lamd was ,I am assured, excellent!. Had good chat with the friendly customers, something I normally abhore, but on this occasion seemed just right. V likeable and nourishing lunch at a picture perfect Inn

We went here for food upon advice that this is where most of the locals tend to go. For this reason we hoped the quality of the food would be good, and we weren't disappointed! It can get quite busy in the evenings, but the food is absolutely excellent and good value! Definitely the best place to eat in Mevagissey!

Good company and good beer and good food, great for families and well worth a visit, close to the harbor and local shops. Try the skinners Ales there is enough of them!!!
