“Spotless, welcoming and wonderful views”
Reviewed 19 May 2009

Found this place on the internet. I was in a single room with a separate toilet and shower room down the stairs. The toilet and spacious shower room were exclusively for my use as all the other rooms were ensuite. To make the journey of a few stairs in a modest fashion I was provided with white slippers and a white robe (looked brand new). Lovely toiletries provided, the bed was very comfortable and the white bedding was spotless.
Breakfast was provided in the dining room with fabulous views over the harbour. The owners were very friendly and welcoming.
The only, very small, downside was that there was no carpark. You can stop outside the b and b to unload and then park in a residential area above the b and b. From here you walk down a steep footpath to the front door. This wasn't a problem and the area feels very safe so no problems leaving the car parked but it would have been nice to have the car where I could see it. Still this certainly wouldn't put me off going back because it was such a treat!

My daughters booked this trip as a birthday treat as I had a horrible year last year. Our room was called Victoria and we had a balcony with stunning views of the harbour, the room was spacious and spotless and had everything you needed - hairdryer, tea and coffee making facilities even a pair of bionoculars! The breakfast room was directly underneath the balcony with the same glorious view and the breakfast was excellent.

We found plenty of free parking around the back of the house with a footpath which leads straight to the door. Ian and Val were most welcoming hosts with a terrific sense of humour, nothing was too much trouble and their attention to detail made the stay even more enjoyable. Mevagissey has a great range of restaurants/pubs and shops. We would definitely like to return to Honeycombe House one day.

My Partner and I stayed at Honeycombe House for 1 night. The place was spotless and the twin room we had was comfortable .The shower room was quite small though. We could not get the telly to work . But we weren't to bothered . We could have got Ian or Val to sort it. The towels were good quality but the bath towel was very small. Lovely to have the heated towel rail. The breakfast was most enjoyable with great views over mevagissey. Ian and Val we very friendly and welcoming. Ian did ask us to be quiet in the house because the walls were thin. (Not that we were noisy) But the toilet did make a awful noise when flushed . So i think a few loud voices seemed irrevalant. But a most enjoyable stay.

We have just returned from our 3rd stay at Honeycombe House and are looking forward to the next time! The B&B is the nicest I have stayed in with a fantastic view over Mevagissey and the coastline beyond. Great breakfast and friendly welcome. Would recommend it to anyone!

I can’t say in a few words just how much we loved staying at Honeycombe House, so get yourself a cuppa sit down and read about the best B&B in Mevagissey (maybe in Cornwall).

We had the opportunity to have an unexpected 5 night break in March 2008 and decided to visit Cornwall, a place we hadn’t been to for years. Mevagissey, in particular was a place we had fond memories of. We found Honeycombe House on the internet and booked into the Victoria room. We weren’t disappointed!

Honeycombe House was chosen as it is at the top of a very steep hill and has the most amazing views across the pretty harbour and down the coastline. (Also good for burning off the calories if you have overindulged in Cornish pasties and cream teas).

Ian and Val gave us the warmest of welcomes, the views from the bedroom and also from the dining room are stunning to say the least. The breakfast was excellent, lots of choice, mostly from local produce including Val’s delicious homemade marmalade and also the fab Boddington Berries strawberry jam. A jam made in Mevagissey from strawberries grown there. The dining room is also available for you to use if you want to bring hot food back.

There is loads in information in the guest lounge of places to go and things to do including maps and timetables etc. We wanted to spend our time in and around Mevagissey itself, walking and chilling but nothing is very far away and if you do wish to go further a field it is lovely to come back to the comfort of Honeycombe House.

The rooms are nicely furnished in white and cream, tea/coffee facilities are better than most places offering a wider choice. Glasses and corkscrews are also provided. The towels and bed linen were changed every 3 days but this could be more often on request. The bathrooms are small but make the most of the space available and are more than adequate.

If you book the Victoria or Albert room you also have a balcony with seats to sit and watch the world go by, the bedroom has a very nautical feel as does the dining room.

We enjoyed our stay so much that within 2 days of being home we booked again to go for 9 nights in September, this time we stayed in the Albert room, once again there was no disappointment with our stay and we will be going again for sure in 2009.

All of this sounds, and indeed is, lovely, but none of it would be anything at all without the hospitality of the owners and the fantastic standard of cleanliness and hygiene. A real sparkling jewel.

We loved this place! After a walk up a steep hill (totally worth it!) we made it to the top and we were immediately welcomed to Honeycombe House.
The rooms were beautiful, very clean and they had amazing views over the harbour.
The breakfast area is just amazing. It's set in this gallery which offers an 180 degree view of the harbour. It's absolutely gorgeous! We could have sat there all day. And breakfast itself was really nice! Prepared from mainly local produce.
Next year we'll be going back to Mevagissey and we'll definitely be staying here again.
