This was our 3rd stay in less than a year - and was rewarded with yet another problem free break.
Staff & kitchen continue to be excellent and continued modernisation has now refreshed the previously tired bar and bistro area.
The location is out of this world - siting on the Cornwall Costal path; looking down on Mullion Cove harbour in all it's splendor & across to Lands End.
Why is it that very few people go to the Lizard?
In fact - please don't go !

Room Tip: Pay the extra and get a room overlooking the harbour.

I just wanted to write a review dedicated to the fantastic staff at the Mullion Cove.
I went to the Lizard on spec after spending a week in a cottage near Trebarwith. I went into the Mullion Cove hotel asking for accommodation but after spending a week in a cottage we were just looking for basic accommodation for our last two days and so didnt want to pay a lot - everywhere on the Lizard seemed to be full and I was almost defeated!. Lorraine on the reception desk was incredibly friendly and incredibly kind warm and helpful. She pulled out all the stops to find us some accommodation down the road for myself, my partner and his son. The impression I was left with was that if the standard of customer care was so brilliant then Im sure everybody who stays there will have a wonderful stay. We will be back in the future to stay next time !

We stayed two nights in March the weather was glorious. We stayed in the Harbour Suite with my mother for her 60th birthday. The suite was spotless, modern and very homely with great views of the sea. The room didnt have a mini bar or coasters for the furniture but it had everything else needed. Very dog friendly hotel felt very at ease with our 9 month old pup. The first night the food in the restaurant was excellent, second night my husbands wasnt so good but they did change it. Breakfast was excellent full cornish very good bacon. No bar area while we were here still under renovation which was a shame. Really enjoyed our stay and loved walking the dog early in the morning with the sun and the sea. Would definately visit again one day.

This is my second visit to the hotel since jan. and I will return. I'm local and find the Mullion Cove Hotel the perfect place to rest, explore and eat extremely well. The staff are amazing!! They go above and beyond and nothing is ever to much trouble. The food is stunning, I have travelled to many 5 star venues around England and Europe and rate the food at Mullion Cove as far better than any other. I can't wait to return again soon.

Was searching for somewhere to have lunch and was lucky to find this hotel. As previous reviewers have stated there was refurbishment going on in the restaurant but we were offered a table in the lounge and enjoyed a very good meal. 4 of us all had different meals and were all more than satisfied. The staff were very friendly and although the decoration is a little dated the part of the hotel we saw was very clean and comfortable.

Stayed for one night while travelling in Cornwall. We booked the hotel after seeing the room in the hotel brochure, and when we called the hotel we were promised this room. When we arrived we were shown to another room, which although it had a lovely sea view, it was not the room we had been promised. The first member of staff did not appreciate my wife's feelings and did not handle the situation very well, but when we spoke to the manager the following day he handled it very professionally.

The hotel has an excellent position above Mullion Cove with wonderful views. It is an older style hotel, but well maintained, clean and cosy, although probably aimed mostly at retired people. There was some building work going on during our stay. There are several lounge areas which are comfortable, but a little old fashioned.

The dining room was quiet, clean and the service was excellent. The menu was varied and the food was excellent too. Breakfast was a good selection of cereals, fruit and pastries, with waitress service for the freshly cooked selection.

Our seaview bedroom was a good size, clean and cosy, but a little old fashioned. The bed was very soft which was not to our liking, but not everyone likes the same thing so we can't complain. The room had a good selection of tead and coffee. The view was fabulous with a large bay window.

This is a really nice hotel, with excellent service, food and standards, and is very nicely positioned. However it would appeal more to older couples, and is a little old fashioned in its decor. I would recommend it subject to the above caveats, and I do feel it is a little on the expensive side.

Whilst in the area we had a look at the Polurrian Hotel few minutes away, where we had a lovely cream tea. This hotel was also undergoing building work, and if you have a family with you it would have more to do for children.

Room Tip: Upper sea view rooms have great views

We made a huge mistake staying here! We still have 2 and a half weeks of travelling around England, and nothing is going to top this! Amazing view from our bedroom, which looks like it had been just refurbished, the BEST SHOWER ever, great bistro dinner, and fabulous kippers for breakfast! Lovely, helpful and friendly hosts and staff, and plenty of little extras like binoculars in the room. Definitely recommend!!!!
