Our second time here, first time disappointed as little meat, but booked for mums surprise party as she likes it here. Shame only reconstituted turkey again, but veg and yorkshires fine. They coped with our large party ok, we had to find waitress twice as she didn't wake to take all the orders. Inn very bust as a charity event in the garden, would have been a good idea to have a bar out there as queues inside, no chance for loo! A porta loo again be good idea when putting on events. But on the whole mum was happy so it was ok, reasonable price .

Arrived at 1145 Saturday morning only the bar was open which was fine. Barmaid seemed irritated by our presence but I ignored this.we then ordered two baguettes one a bot which my wife very politely asked if the bacon could be really crispy.a reasonable request.the barmaid almost sighed and replied, 'it comes as it comes'. Very poor customer service in an otherwise pleasant pub.

My wife remembered calling at this pub/restaurant which is located on the A390 as it skirts St Austell, some years ago and it was pleasing to note that their high standards had been maintained. We were welcomed and efficiently shown to a table in the restaurant noting what appeared to be evidence of recent refurbishment. I had garlic bread as a starter followed by a very good beef stroganov in which the sauce did not flood the plate as is sometimes experienced, whilst my wife chose two starters which she pronounced to be both interesting and delicious.
We would not hesitate to visit when in the area again.
