Great place to stay. Stayed in room 10 which had a four poster bed . Room had flat screen tv, dvd player, cd player, tea and coffee making facilities, bathroom with shower over bath was a very comfortable room plenty of storage even had a safe. We ate in the restaurant food was great, portions were big and prices were very reasonable Staff are brilliant very helpful. We based ourselves here and travelled to various traditional Cornish fishing villages, Mevagissey is a must beautiful place as was Fowey but be aware parking is above the town so its all down hill but remember you've got to walk back up not for the faint hearted. Looe is also very nice. St Austell is not so wouldn't recommend it. Visit the Eden Project that's also a must

Room Tip: upgrade to room 10 its at the back of the Inn so nice and quiet

We stayed here for 1 night in April 2014 whilst walking the SWCP.
A fine, spacious hotel with modern decor given something of the feel of an art gallery (in a pleasant sense) by the multitude of outstanding nautical-themed pictures on display.
The bedroom was very pleasant, the service at dinner was fine and friendly.
We had no complaints and would happily stay here again if in the area.

I stayed in the Royal Inn last Friday evening 11th April

Very close to Par station and is about 10min walk to Par Sands beach.

Was warmly welcomed and shown to my room.

Lovely clean room with tea and coffee making facilities . Nice and clean room and bathroom.

Had an evening meal in the hotel and enjoyed a few pints of Doom bar ale. Both food and drink great quality.

The morning full English breakfast was the best breakfast probably I have ever had in a b&b . Real nice fresh products. With plenty of other choice available if you don't want the full works .

All the staff very nice and friendly from the evening bar / waitress staff to the morning breakfast team.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Friday night live music as well.

One negative I did encounter was that I think the room I stayed in needs new towels as they were very hard and seen better days.

Well worth a stay if your in the area even if its just for a pint in the lovely bar area.

Looking forward to staying here again.

We spent two nights at Royal Inn while visiting friends in northern Cornwall. Our first breakfast was hot and delicious. It improved considerably when a staff member surprised us with my husband's wallet...which he had left on the pub bar the previous evening. We hadn't even missed it!
Dinner was outstanding. An interesting variety is offered and the food is well prepared.
The wait-staff were extremely friendly and accommodating.

I stayed for one night with a work colleague on a business trip. Wanted to stay somewhere quiet with nice food and that is what we got. Lovely spacious rooms, large bed and very little noise from the car park or corridor.
The rooms are situated at the back of the pub so far enough that we had no noise from the busy bar area, but close enough to go and enjoy a drink and meal.
We had a lovely 3 course meal in the evening and a superb breakfast the next morning - however the young waitress did ignore us for quiet a while and looked shocked when I asked her if I could order some breakfast!
She didn't have the customer service skills of the lovely lady who checked us in which was the only down point of our stay.

We stayed here for a couple of nights while visiting our son in Cornwall. We were very warmly welcomed and the room was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise from the thriving bar downstairs. We had a delicious evening meal, which was great value for money. The breakfast was also excellent.
All in all we would be very glad to return on our next visit to the area.

Ate here as a family on a holiday trip to Cornwall. Got there early and food was fresh and seved promptly. There are other good pubs around but this seemed the most family orientated of them. Our holiday accomodation was not too good so we returned a second time and again have no complaints.
