“Very interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2014

An interesting and enjoyable trip which kept children and adults both interested. Sad to see the ruin of an industry, especially considering if things had been done differently that industry would be back flourishing again. Includes a little underground tour which gives you an idea of the conditions the miners worked in

“Enjoyable & informative”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 June 2014

We wish we could have spent more time going through all the buildings and appreciating the different processes in the mining and the life of the miners. Before going into the mine itself, spend 10 minutes watching a video on the history and operation of the mine - this helps understand what you will see underground! The photo galleries tell there own story - and look out for the wall plaques about the 2 cats - Basil & Skraggs! Good Café & Gift Shop.

“Great hands on visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 June 2014

We spent a lovely 3 hours wandering round the disused tin mine and seeing the mammoth rock shaker tables. Great but sad to see the old locker rooms full of the miners possessions left when the mine closed. Great underground tour by a knowledgeable chappy and then back to walking round the first aid room, union hut, compressor rooms. Wonderful day out , fun for all the family

“so much to see!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 June 2014

We visited the Tin Mine in June 2014 and had a wonderful time wandering around all the exhibits. It was really interesting and the guide who showed us round the mine was very knowledgeable. The cafe served delicious cakes too. Geevor Tin Mine is very good value for money.

“Should you go down in a pit today”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 June 2014

Nothing to dislike about the place, plenty to see and do. The opportunity to explore the place and understand how important the mining was to Cornwall and its impact on people and the countryside. The opportunity to go underground should not be missed and with a good guide to explain it all. If you are tall the hard hat is a blessing and if you are off ample proportions then start dieting. A great place to visit.
