I expected the rooms to be very basic for the price but the room was wonderful! Overlooking the sea with a private balcony, very clean and comfortable, very good breakfast - well worth the stay - if I visit the area again - and I hope to - I will stay here.

We were staying in the village and had read glowing reports of this pub and thought we would give it a try. My husband's curry was cold and if you like half cooked jacket potatoes give it a try!!.
Thought the dining area could have been cleaner. Couldn't wait to leave.

A 'proper' pub. low ceilings, open fires and good ale. The unexpected and very pleasant surprise came when we saw the curry menu. My wife and i had 3 different and interesting curries and shared them, each one was very good and interesting in taste. I later found out that this pub has accommodation and may well look into staying here on our next visit to Cornwall.

We stopped here to have lunch and we had the smoked haddock and spring onion fish cakes, which were very nice. The food was well freshly prepared and tasted great, the beer was well kept and the staff and service were friendly and efficient.
This is a lovely place to visit and we enjoyed eating here and will be returning - we hear the curry is also good!

We stayed here for a couple of nights mid-March. Nice spacious room, very friendly staff (Cara thank-you very much) and the food was lovely (especially the home-made curries - had the lamb kohlapuri both nights!). Dog-friendly and the sort of pub that is unfortunately disappearing from existence or that is turning in to something that pubs shouldn't be. A "must" if you love traditional pubs and the fantastic countryside and coast of West Cornwall.

My Wife and I stayed here on what was one of the coldest weekends of the year to date. The accomadation was warm, clean, and of a good size. All staff and pub regulars were friendly and some good banter was had.
We eat at the hotel two of the three nights we were there and the food was good value and good taste.
Breakfast is ample and good, although Spike the pub dog does a good job in making you give up your sausage.

Perfect Sunday lunch on a cold January weekend. Generous portions and very tasty. We were staying locally, so returned later in the week for an evening meal. Having never tried whitebait, I discovered that it made an incredibly tasty starter. Again, very generous portions. We each had a hamburger (one American half pounder, one Hawaiian quarter pounder) and chips and found them quite filling. Lovely. It was also my first taste of rattler cider.
The Landlord was friendly and the locals at the bar were cheery and chatty.
A cosy, 'real' pub with food that really hits the spot.
