This is lovely hotel in a superb position run by engaging staff. We stayed for one night DBB as a birthday treat. The hotel is pet friendly and this was very useful for our circumstances and it is evident that time and attention has been given to facilitate dogs. The room was a good size as was the bathroom - sadly, though the towel rail did not work and the rainfall shower was more a dribble - I mentioned this to reception and whilst the shower issue was broadly passed over the manager did both try and get the radiator to work and let me have some tools in order to try and bleed the radiator myself - annoyingly this didn't work. In the morning the manager changed the towels, but tbh we didn't want either a bath or weak shower in a cold room with no warm towels. Life is too short for this to be much of an issue and whilst I did not ask for any discretion on the bill I thought it would be offered - it wasn't - I left feeling like I should maybe more ago and aghast like so many travellers are these days. As I say life is to short I guess but it would make me think again about a return stay. This doesn't stop a recommendation and a great trip overall - location really is lovely, the hotel well kept, the food really good and staff all really helpful and chatty. I would only say that room 17 has issues with it's shower and towel rail that need addressing.

Room tip: Check shower and towel rails before you unpack

Dear Arthursfather,

Thank you for taking the time to write a lovely honest review.

Firstly, it's great to read that you enjoyed your stay and that you would still recommend us to others. We can only apologies again for the problems with the heating during your stay. As explained, we had a new boiler fitted that day and although the system was bled, there were still ongoing issues which turned out that the complete system just needed to be bled through further. This obviously impacted your stay and for this we can only apologies further.

We sincerely hope that this does not put you off returning and indeed, if you do decide to book again, please do just phone and speak to a member of our reception Team and they will make sure they look after you.

Many thanks,
The Talland Bay Team

We drove from Charlestown to The Talland Bay Hotel for lunch today.
We are so glad we did.
From arrival to pre lunch drinks to lunch and then a walk around the grounds...everything was amazing.
We were a couple and had the whole plaice and rump steak.
Both dishes cooked to perfection and delicious.
We ate in the conservatory with views to die for.
Elsewhere, Christmas decorations were up and the place looks stunning.
Hats off to the waiting staff (and chef of course) on a rather quiet day...they made it special for us.
It's not cheap, nor should it be in such elegant and so very, very British Cornwall surroundings.
A true gem.
We will book a stay next time we come.
Thank you TB Hotel.

We were welcomed very warmly to the hotel. We enjoyed our superb fine dining experience - the menu was great and Sunday lunch beautifully cooked. All the staff could not have been more attentive and efficient - a highly cohesive team! Highly recommended! We booked through HPB - Duloe Manor which was ideal and the local taxi driver shared lots of useful information of the area. We hope to return.

We had an awesome time here for 3 night mid week . Very chilled and peaceful. Staff are personally very friendly and attentive without being invasive . Our 3 dogs were made very welcome with treats and blankets for them . We were lucky enough to have the room with a balcony and hot tub overlooking the gardens and coast . Slight extravagance but well worth it . Jack the manager is very hands on and very happy staff atmosphere . Food is def worth going for even if you don’t stay at the hotel . We will revisit for sure !
