The Old Railway Yard B&B
Ranked #2 of 10 Redruth B&B and Inns
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 5 September 2010

We stopped at the Old Railway Yard purely because all our usual B & B.s were full over the August bank holiday weekend. They had only been open about a year and we didnt know what to expect, but were pleasently suprised.
They only have two rooms , an on-suite Double and a twin with private Bathroom. We had the double which was a reasonable size, very clean, with good quality furniture and fittings. The bed was only a double but very comfy with exccellent linen. A bonus was a small balcony with table and two chairs from which you could see the sea on the north cornwall coast.
The on-suite was a wet room which was a little odd is it was fairly small for a Wet room. The shower etc was excellent, although you had to be carefull not to splash too much as you ended up with with wet loo paper and a wet floor around the toilet pedestal!
As the under foor heating was off, it stayed wet all night so if you went to the loo in the night you had to dry your feet before you get back in to bed!

Sue and Graham the proprieters were very laid back and easy to get on with, they even gave up there own bed room for another couple who couldn't find any where to stay!
The breakfast was good with a choice of whatever you wanted at a time to suit you.

The house itself was very well laid out with expensive quality flooring, high quality furnishings with a good paved parking area and immaculate gardens.
Its situated on a small hill in countryside just out side Redruth on the way to Lanner, ideal for walking the mining trails.

Things to dislike?, Nothing really, the tea, coffee etc in the room were not topped up daily as is usual, but were happily given more whenever we asked for some more.

All in all a good experince, at a very reasonable price, we will certainly be back
