We recently dined here to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and without a doubt this is one of the best dining experiences we have had. The decor, ambience and service were all excellent and could not be faulted in anyway. The food was absolutely superb in presentation, quality and taste. We thoroughly enjoyed the canapes (beetroot and horseradish was delightful), bread, amuse bouche, asaragus, mackerel, lamb, risotto and desserts of rhubarb and lemon mascarpone. The wine we had was also excellent and reasonably priced.

Thoroughly recommend and would love to visit again if we lived nearer!

We had never eaten in Rock before but knew it had some wonderful restaurants. We took a chance and invited 22 family and friends to dine with us to celebrate my 60th birthday. Donna very kindly gave us exclusive use of the restaurant. I cannot thank Donna and Fred enough. From the beautiful table and ambience to the excellent service and amazing food. Every guest complimented them and we are still talking about it. Thank you both for an unforgettable evening.
The quality and cost put London restaurants to shame.

This restaurant is a hidden gem, not that many tables, so quite intimate, but cosy. Owned by a lovely couple, the husband had a michelin background, however his wife was front of house. She was so modest about their offering, and indicated that they were too focused on serving amazing food to be distracted about aiming for a michelin star! It is however very worth of this honour. Try their white crab salad, with watermelon and kohlrabi, wow! As was the St Enodoc asparagus for starters. I enjoyed the turbot which was beautifully cooked with marinated fennel and a saffron veloute. The Cornish cheese menu was plentiful and delicious. Served with local Camel Valley wine. Booking is essential.

All the favorable reviews speak for themselves. As we went to Paul Ainsworth at Number 6 in Padstow the night before. That has one Michelin star, and all 8 of us who ate thought this was better:

- Better food
- A number of sublime amuse-bouches, not available at Paul Ainsworth
- More reasonable wine list but equally good.
- Equally good service and ambiance.

The Dining Room is tiny and unassuming. Behind the doors is a wonderful dining experience with wonderful people.

Forget the local 'big-named' chefs....go here, at least try it...you won't be disappointed. This chef can cook!
Donna and her team are attentive, friendly and excellent hosts....that's just the start. The restaurant had a lovely atmosphere, simple but stylish.
The food is excellently prepared, creatively presented and unbelievably good value.
You start with complementary canapés and delicious bread, followed by a complimentary amuse bouche!
Then there's the menu...Could have eaten anything from it. As I love Duck, that was my choice, and this was the best cooked Duck I have ever had, and I've eaten a lot of duck!
There's a good selection of wine.
Next time were in Rock/Padstow this is a definite!
