We stayed at the Rosevine for a long weekend on Fri 22nd to Mon 25th in Slate room 3. The staff were absolutely fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. The views of the sea were also absolutely stunning, with perfect location to get access to the coastal walk, which we walked from St Anthony Head to Nare Head and back to the hotel. Whilst slate room 3 was a little small, it was well decorated and had a lovely private garden between two rooms, which was lovely a quite. We had breakfast at the hotel each morning and dinner twice and all of the food was top quality and plentiful. The chef is highly recommended! Overall our stay was fantastic and we would love to go again.

A fantastic hotel, Perfect for couples, families and older people. The breakfast was superb, as was the attitude of the management in particular! Fantastic gardens & very close to a great beach. Would highly recommend & stay again in the future without any doubt!

We stayed here for a couple of days while we put the boat in the water for the season so weren't really looking for much more than local to St Mawes and somewhere comfortable to rest our heads.

Thoughts?

Our room was a great size with a balcony looking out over the beautiful view and gardens

The walls are paper thin, fortunately our neighbours were early to bed so it was quiet by 10pm.

Carpet.....they've installed some kind of grass/reed type which felt like walking on nails barefoot

Double bed, as seems to be normal these days is actually two large singles, fear of falling down the middle meant I got a great nights sleep, guess that's fortunate for the neighbours given the walls...

Bathroom was nice but poorly cleaned, sure the toilet, sink and bath were hair, stain free and sparkling but after a while you notice the mildew in the corners of the tiles, the weeks of dust on electrical outlets and towel rails, not really good enough imo.

To sum up, the front of house staff we met were superb, very friendly and always smiling and polite, like a lot of hotels you get the feeling the weakness is in the operational side, the cleaners who do what they can within the time allotted/how they're treated and the owners/senior mgmt who are running a business to a budget..

The hotel is actually very smartly decorated and has a real feel of class in the communal areas and the room did what we needed - would I recommend it? probably but to older relatives who can't see, hear or have a burning desire to cuddle... ;0)

We stayed for five nights with our four year old in one of the family apartments. Fabulous location, very short walk to the beach, great views, wonderful area. Our son enjoyed the toys in the playroom. Delicious food. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend and we hope to return!
