We waited over half an hour for one ham and one prawn bap (they had run out of baguettes), the quality of which left a lot to be desired. The dressing on the prawn one was thin and dripped all over the place while the salad dressing was supermarket style cheap tasting. The inn was not overly busy, how are they going to cope when the season kicks in? Definitely will not go again.
Breakfasts now added to this pubs menu - & boy, are they VFM. Tried both of them with my husband, & also with friends. Now the proud owners of a long lease, Kat & Ali are going from strength to strength. The new shop is shaping up well too. The food is classic pub grub, at very good prices - no tourist rip-offs here. Give them a go!!
On our day trip to the area we found this lovely pub, on the edge of the beach.
The new owners are an attentive & friendly couple, who have many great plans for this venture.
The homemade steak & Ale pie was delicious & my gammon steak cooked just right.
Portions were generous, leaving just enough room for a cheese cake & cream
Even our dog "Tina Maria" was given her own bowl of fresh water to slurp down, after a lovely walk on the near bye beach.
Prices were very reasonable & I will return. Thanks
We went in a gang of 10 for a birthday meal, and got a great reception. The menu is a bit limited at present, but there was enough choice to suit everyone. All the meals arrived at the same time despite there being so many of us, and all the plates were cleared!!
My wife and I had the steaks, which were cooked just the way we like them, medium.
Nothing was too much trouble for our hosts, including providing some balloons to decorate the room. The service was excellent.
To top it off, the Doom Bar bitter was the best pint of that beer I have tasted, they are obviously looking after the cellar, which is a great sign.
...back...under the new management. Sunday lunch is no longer a carvery but is good value for money. The only downside is that the new owners still cannot accept card payments. This must cause a real headache.
