A Fascinating glimpse into the history and methods of tin mining in Cornwall not in a museum but a working Tin mine - only a few yards from a lovely secluded beach to boot!

Bit of a drive down a single track and steep incline. Limited opening times so check as you will need at least 45 minutes. You can purchase Tin Souveniers made from tin extracted here.

An excellent local and social history site. This compact family run mining site kept me interested and absorbed for few hours. It took me through the lives of the people from the past who ran the mine from digging the raw mineral through to the beautiful pure tin jewellery and gifts. A very big thank you to Mark and Colin Wills and the lovely lady who served me in the shop!

brilliant sea view & the location is of great historical significance - ok, so you will be visting ruins as the mines are no longer functional but you can take some great photos

this place might not be to everyones tastes but we find it enchanting! its remote,,its very bland,,almost moon like,,tho also usually very quiet,,the kids love it down there and not overly run with tourists,,,,a very small beach but peaceful,!!!,,,tho this is tidal! not much parking space, its keeps the kids quiet for a few hours maybe half a day if there prepped with a bucket and net!
havent tried the museum there but looks kinda intresting from the drive down on the road,,but beware,,you cannot take a camper etc down here,,there is a narrowing in the road to about 6 ft! very dodgy!,and the other way down there is a 1 / 5 road down hill! with a hairpin that could be proud to be on any italian job film!
not a good place for wrinkleys,,i think the walks would kill em off!

Thank david l
