Stayed here for one night a while ago & as observed elsewhere it's not actually a hotel but a pub with a few rooms above it! I went off season so it was pleasantly quiet & had excellent dinner + breakfast the following morning - there was a small buffet with cereal & you could have anything cooked a la carte. What really appealed to me besides the scenery ( old tin mines worth visiting) was the friendliness of the staff & of course the 'locals' in direct contrast to where I live in London. However, in common with London the reservations lady was Eastern European & very efficient as are all the girls who work in almost every restaurant that I've been to in the London area.
There was a small TV in the room so perhaps taking your iPod would be advisable!
I flew down to Newquay with BA who gave up the route a while back & just checked google to see if any airlines fly down there now....or maybe you're happy to drive.
My room was "basic" but comfortable & clean hence my heading - not a Hilton or Sheraton but absolutely fine if passing through.More
